Do you "open carry" your Busse?

I only open carry when I'm on a hike or out in the woods. I edc a pocket knife. :) Bring out the Busse folder!

I carry my GW in horizontal with tech lock in front of my right hip most times. Occasionally I will take my SS and carry it on my waist horizontal in front of my left hip, cross draw. When I carry the SS around, I tuck the shirt behind it so it is out in the open. The laws in WA state are a bit nebulous.

It is a gross misdemeanor (365 days jail $5,000 fine max) to:

Furtively carries with intent to conceal any dagger, dirk, pistol, or other dangerous weapon

the statute goes on to say:

It shall be unlawful for any person to carry, exhibit, display, or draw any firearm, dagger, sword, knife or other cutting or stabbing instrument, club, or any other weapon apparently capable of producing bodily harm, in a manner, under circumstances, and at a time and place that either manifests an intent to intimidate another or that warrants alarm for the safety of other persons.

That means that basically they can charge for carrying concealed any weapon apparently capable of causing serious bodily harm (you note that that statute includes any knife, cutting or stabbing instrument, and the catch all any other weapon "apparently capable of producing bodily harm" so rocks, sticks, sharps bits of glass, a really heavy steel toe boot, crispy french fries, frozen steak, you name it).

Further, they can possibly charge you for carrying openly, if some namby pamby becomes alarmed for no reason (by saying it is illegay to carry, exhibit display.........any weapon APPARENTLY capable of causing serious bodily harm, "that warrants alarm for the safety of other persons."

I am blessed to live in Illinois as well so in the summer months I tend to wear a GW in an Okuden IWB/SOB rig with an untucked shirt.
When I'm feeling more daring  during heavy clothing months, I'll wear my AD in the same setup.

I was lucky enough to be randomly frisked once in Chicago while I was wearing my AD. The officer gave me a face to face belt line sweep around both sides of my waist...stopping just short of the AD that had shifted upright in my SOB...whew:o

Also, in the summer I prefer loose cargo style shorts and the AD and GW drop right into a leg pocket.

BTW, a BAe in an Okuden rig is also suprisingly concealable;)

i lost a really nice gerber in a movie theatre because i had it in the cargo pocket of my shorts

when i carry a fixed blade, it is either a gw or cultie concealed.

i have leatherman sheaths for belt sheaths for both. my shirts are always untucked to conceal a firearm, and the little busses dont ride much lower than my pistol.

i carry aS.J. mill overrun on my belt with a tecloc kydex sheath on my strong side i live in Florida sure i get few looks and its leagl . just as long as ur not displayingit in aan unruley fashion. by that i mean waving it around

In town I usually carry a GW in my front right pocket - nobody seems to mind a 3" blade as long as it doesn't look too tactical (black coated, serrated, talons, etc.), especially if you have an obvious reason to be carrying it - I find that an apple or sharing some dry sausage and cheese usually puts office people at ease.
On casual day hikes or working outdoors on weekends, I find an AD discretely slipped into my back pocket or close to the hip belt wear arouses little or no interest - except by fellow Busse fans. On the other hand, the NMSFNO is strictly for carry inside the pack or inside the trunk.

Yeah, 'Nuther Floridian here.
I carry openly, usually like this:

I open carry all around the house and garden here in nanny England. Sometimes my Busse is the only thing I'm wearing!

Has anyone ever seen a pocket sheath, similar to the pistol holsers that fit into your pocket for smaller pistols, but for knives?

I EDC my large or small Sebenza, always.
I'll sometimes also carry an AD, Cultie or similar sized Handmade.

Our laws in GA have changed in the past couple of years. It now states that you can't carry a knife to be used for offence or defence:confused: I've asked some LEO's and none seems to give me the same answer, and most didn't know the law had changed.
I've never heard or seen them mess with anyone carring a knife though...unless it was while they were in the act of another crime. Then they'll add on all they can.

I carry my gw, or a bad on my belt open every day down here in Savannah and noboby has ever said anything.

That's a sweet sheath & looks like it has excellent retention - is it very secure as it looks?

Who makes it?

Yes, it's very secure. It's a Mashed Cat kydex sheath, I bought it with the knife when the Company Store had them.

Good point to mention:thumbup: I have also lost my share of SAKs this way. the longer rigs stay a lot better but you still have to be aware of it.

I EDC a folder every single day since i was like 7.. My very first fixed blade is the ASH-1 which i conceal carry in town (baggy shirt/fleece) and the bottom of the kydex slides right into my front pocket.

Out fishing/hiking, everything is out in the open.
