Yup those are some odd ones. I've had a few through my hands but nothing thats stayed. CRKT Turtles were my favorite gift knife for a while, chicks dig em

I have a tekna dive knife, the original black coated with sheath but I cannot find the straps.

Yes. That's a good idea, I don't have any pictures of most of them.

Well I am impressed my friend. You are a serious collector. I started hunting those knives down on the. Internet. You wanna adopt me as your son?

Some of the most lame knives end up having the most interesting tales. Here's a page with the Donnybrook story:
http://blackjack.0catch.com/pages/folders.htm

That website says that 1000 or 500 were made, but Mike Stewart has told me the initial (and only) run of these was 300, and that only 200 of those were functional as knives.
Pictures on that page show a Blackjack etch, but most were sandblasted to remove the BJ logos. And most of the sandblasted knives were etched with a Soldier of Fortune logo to sell at one of their conventions. My example knife has been bead-blasted but does not have the SOF logo.

I don't even know the story of my Zenith knife. It is not the same as the Zenith brand used by the Marshall Wells hardware store, nor does it appear to be related to the current company manufacturing industrial blades.

Amazingly, after years of searching, THREE of these have been sold recently at auction, including one in unused condition. None of the auction listings contain any information about the brand though.

I've owned around 300 knives in the past 30 years and never owned any of the above. Wouldn't want to as well if that counts.

Sorry, but that's the most diverse list of knives and bladed items I could conjure. Some are only of interest to collectors no doubt, but most are high quality, well made items. The Paragon knives are absolutely beautiful and designed by one of the most famous custom knife makers. Marbles is (was) one of the most respected names in outdoor blades in American history. The Case Tri-Fold was designed by Blackie Collins, the inventor of assisted-opening mechanisms. And Ek is the epitome of "tactical," from back in the day when the military actually used knives for fighting.
Maybe next time I'll have something more to your liking. ;)

You could have shown me that list and told me they were cars and I wouldn't have known any better.

I've got less than 100 knives, and I do have 1 of the knives mentioned in the poll. Does it count if I know what they are, and used to want one?

Gotta say, it was a fun list!

If I'd had known how common the original USA-Schrade Old Timer 14-OT was, I would have stipulated, "white micarta prototype." :D

what is this poll supposed to show?

Just like a similar poll posted recently, I am merely wondering how many other Bladeforums members happen to own any of these knife models.

For one reason, I'm curious as to where many sold knives eventually end up. I suspect there is a large world of collectors out there who are not members of Bladeforums. If there were 250 sets of a particular knives made, and only one other person on BF owns one, that would reinforce my suspicion, and even give an indicator as to the size of the offline collector population. On the other hand, if a hundred people in the General forum popped up and said, "Oh yeah, I've got one of those," that would indicate that the "offline" collectors world is rather small.

For another reason, I'm interested in learning whether Bladeforums members who are regulars in the General area are even interested in these sorts of knives and bladed items.

All good information so far, and some good conversation too.

Here's a teaser of the photo I haven't taken yet... a Xikar knife.
