Do you participate in the forums for the information? Or to talk to fellow knife nuts

Hey everybody, I've been participating on the forum for a while now, and have a question for y'all. Do you find that you participate in the forum mainly to find out information and talk about the topic themselves? Or do you find you enjoy participating on the forum because of the people and the community you find here?

Yes to both.

There is much insight and wisdom to be shared here. That is one of the main reasons that I am here, but I have to admit I get a big kick out of the sense of humor that some of you have. For example, Blues Bender going for a drive with his new blade so that they get to know each other better. LOL.

I try to do both but my internet self doesn't come across well. I try to stay polite knowing that I don't attract internet friends, and all the time trying to thank others for their knowledge and wisdom.

So, that leaves me with the information. And it is awesome information.

Thanks BladeForums!

Eric

Are we gonna be graded on this exam?

My posts per day isn't very satisfactory :D

I'm a loser and have nothing else to do. I do both though.

I started on the forum mainly looking for information on knvies, however now it's more about the camaraderie.

Haha, I know what you're saying. I have experienced the same thing. Not here, but on other things.

Both, info is good, a lot to learn and there are some good people here.

Started for general knife knowledge, then got into Himalayan Imports products pretty heavily for a couple of years so I was constantly sharking and reading up on them, and now mostly participate in the more community based forums. But I still read a lot of the knife info.

Started out just hanging around the schrade forum, as I enjoyed their knives. I made many knife friends along the way. I ended up getting into knife modding, and that has far more rewarding than anything else, as I get the honor of working on peoples projects and family heirlooms. It is very humbling. If I stopped modding, I would still hang out and drool over knives.

When I read the question, I was trying to think of how to word my answer. I read this reply and realized it says exactly what I wanted to say. I'm a decently nice and likeable guy in person, but on the Internet, by text,I'm come across poorly. And I'm bad at taking others the right way as well; I both misinterpret and am misinterpreted.

So I'll ask about what I want to know about that but won't participate much, if at all, in the socializing. It's not that I don't like you all, I'm just not good at text-based socializing.
