Do you really like the after the spa look

I haven't had my CRK long enough to come close to warranting a spa treatment, but I do like being able to point at a scratch and say "that happened when I was..." etc.

I didn't realize people weren't fond of the SB finish this much. I recently took my new Starbenza to a new scotchbrite pad and the the star burst pattern looks fantastic like this. I'm talking way better than factory finish! I love it even more now! I just wish anodizing it didn't void the warranty.

I was not aware that anodizing voided any warranty.

I like some scotch brite looks on knives, but it SUCKS as far as grip. I have one of my umnumzaans done, and the smooth part of the scale(end by clip, sticking out of pocket area) makes extraction virtually impossible. This is a case where i wish Chris would have extended the criss cross pattern.

I like the used look of titanium. I did wonder about the spa on one of my inlays, but not sure if they can make those look new again.

I've only sent one to the spa. I love the worn look so I can prove to people I actually use them lol. no one believes they are used regularly when you tell them how much they cost.

I got the response straight from CRK that aftermarket anodizing WILL void the warranty.
Good to know. I know they've worked on anodized knives in the past but maybe it was just for a spa refurb, and not warranty work. Thanks!

My only SB'd CRK is a small Micarta. The inlays make it grip just fine. I really love that little knife.

Of the two I got back from the spa recently - one went in the safe, the other has been carried a handful of times since. The new grit is finally starting to be worn away enough to not feel icky. I removed the lanyard and my pin was rattling so today I gutted a piece of red cord, threaded it through the pin the cut and burned the edges. No more rattle and a bit more flare of color. Anyway, while I was doing that I took the Ti slabs and rubbed them for a good five minutes each with my cotton t-shirt to rub a little more finish off. MUCH better. I was going to give them a couple of swirls on my leather stropp but it was loaded with compound and I didn't really want to get into that. I didn't have a plain piece of leather to use so I just used the t-shirt. It was good enough.

This is why I like the micarta on the knife, the micarta prevents a lot of the snail trails. When I clean my micarta classic I will wash the micarta with antibacterial soap and a toothbrush this will make the micarta look new again than I will put a little dab of wd40 on a cloth and rub the titanium. This darkens the titanium and a thin layer of wd40 on the blade will protect it from any rust. This makes the knife look pretty new again. I carry in a small calfskin pouch so this protects my knife. I am not saying I baby my knife lol. I am not a person that can afford many sebenzas so I keep the one I have in excellent condition.

Yes I sent in my 25 for some work and decided to get a spa treatment. It came back like new. It's smooth and sharp as can be.
