What was your first knife?
Did someone give it to you or did you buy it?
How old were you when you got your first knife?
Do you still have it?

I would like to hear about your very first knife.
Do you remember it?

My first kvife was a Cub Scout knife. I was probably about 10 years old. I lost it a long time ago.

My first knife was a Vitorinox SAK. It is similar to a Classic. My father went to Switzerland on business and he brought it back for me. I was 6 or 7 years old. He showed me how sharp it was by shaving the hair on his arm. I found a reason to use it everyday. I was always bothering him to sharpen it for me, ( so that it would shave the hair on my arm.) Finally when I was about 8yrs he bought me a set of stones and showed me how to sharpen it. That was the begining of the end for me. By the way, I still have the knife and my stones. Both reside on the top shelf of my safe.

I was about ten too. And it was a little old Craftsman pocket knife. two blades, can opener, the standard little folder. It was my dad's, and then he gave it to me. I used it all the time, until one summer was fishing off a bridge up at place we go camping, and it got kicked off bridge into water. A few too many snappers in that lake to go after it, so lost it. Course, by tthat time had lots of other knives, so just grabbed another one out of my tackle box. :)

Mine was a Case Whittler. I was 8. . .and still have it.

It's in pretty bad shape ! :D

I was like 7 or 8, I think, and it was a crappy SAK clone my parents gave me... When I was 9 or so I realized what a piece o' poo it was, and took it apart to see how everything worked; then I used the blade to make a fixed-blade knife with a paper clip and a popsicle stick (I probably would have been better off just sharpening the stick). I think I still have that thing, actually.

A Sears 3-blade stockman. Saved up for a long time, then begged my mother to allow me to buy it. I was probably 13 yrs old. I don't have it anymore. It was stolen when someone broke into our apartment.

My first knife was one of those ultra-cheap camping knives (you know, the ones with the folding fork and spoon!)...I got it when I was a Cub Scout (around 8-10 years old, I guess)...it turned into a heap of rust.

It was a Buck...can't remember the model, maybe a 110...bought by my dad...given to me when i was 9...:D

My first was also a boyscout folder when I was seven years old. Brown (prolly plastic) stag handle, main blade and little blade, little cub-scout inlay on one side. I've no idea what ever happened to it or when. My current blade collecting has only been going on for about seven years, beginning when I was 27 or so... :p

It was some sort of cub scout knife (even though I never did do cub/boy scouts) that my dad gave me...I lost it within a few days because I had a hoodie which I wore that had a pocket in front, where I put the knife.

Then I got a rip off SAK knife...lost that one too (same method...I learned after this one). I was age 8-9 on both of those.

Then when I was 11 or so, I saved the $15 required for a Victorinox knife (small/large blade, cork screw, phillips/flat screwdriver)...my parents surprised me and bought it for me:D. I talked about 3 knives because this knife was the first knife I had for more than a few days and actually meant something to me. I used it for 3-4 years.

Mine was a cub scout knife that my Father gave me when I was about eight. I still have it somewhere.

Bought my first knife myself when I was 12y/o. Bought a Shrade 125OT and I still have it. Use it to skin deer with sometime but mostly stays in the drawer of memories...

Mine was a cheap nameless brand non-locking folder. It was about 3" long closed with blue plastic on the handles. I think my mom bought if for me when I was 7 or 8 as a present. Still have it in my collection.

My Dad gave me my first knife when I was 5 or 6. It was a SAK copy from KMart, I believe the "Sharp" brand and I think that the name was "Matador". I believe that I lost it some time in High School. I wish that I still had it...

a coalman camping knife....i used it for 2 years till i got a swiss classic. i took the blade of the coalman and still have it....

CUB SCOUTS ,it had blue plastic scales with the cub scout emblem on one side .Camalis manufacturer. Also my dad gave me an old Barlow which i kept in my super duper, collect anything, everything, goody box of super hero cracker jack toys & gadgets!.:D

My first was a Vict. Camper which my dad got for me when I was 12.

Had it for 11 good years before I recently lost it this past summer. Went camping and ended up dropping it somewhere.

Good knife with some sentimental value attached to it.
