Do you remember your first "serious" knife?

My first was a Buck CrossLock #180, single blade. Must have been the mid-90's, still have it..

I spent my first ever paycheck on an EDI Genesis. ATS-34, Titanium liners, G10 scales, this thing was cutting edge and everything I'd ever wanted in a knife. Sadly, I lost it a couple of years later. Recently I managed to find one for sale and paid way too much for the nostalgia. It's amazing how far the state of the art has advanced in the last twenty years. What was once my holy grail of production knives wouldn't even be able to compete with the junk in a Walmart display case for fit, finish, and action these days.

Yeah! Benchmade Mini Reflex, mid nineties. It was amazing, like this thing landed from another planet. Needless to say I was oblivious to the advances of the industry. I carried that knive daily for over a decade, didn't look around or care, still have it and don't plan on parting, too many memories...
With the exemption of the deployment type, I think it is still relevant, light weight and a good slicer from before the whole over build folder thing..
