Do you remember your First...?

My father collects knives so I grew up handling and using knives from an early age. The first knife I owned that was "mine" was a SAK Fisherman. My Grandfather bought it for me when I joined the cub scouts. My Grandmother bought me the matching sheath. This was one of the best days of my childhood. When my father though I had finally become a man(I think I was 16) he bought me my first mans knife which was a Buck 110. The first knife I purchased for my self was a Gerber EZ Out First Production Run. This started my long love of pocket clip folders. I have carried a clip folder and a SAK ever since. I still have all three of those early knives. The only one that is still in regular active duty is the Gerber. The Fisherman is totally impractical as it is so wide, and the Buck got retired when I purchased a Benchmade 610 Rukus. But all three knives will always be dear to me.

My first was some folder,at age of 7.I owned many since then, but that was only knives for me.In 1988 accidentally passing by sharpening shop I saw the knife in window I felt in love.
It was 8" Solingen bowie,no sheath,I had to buy it.Owner told me he imported blade blank from Germany, and just put scales on it(very poor). But in those days there was no many quality knives to buy in my country.I rehandled that knife twice, and it is still my favorite although I don't use it any more .Too sentimental value.

I remember my first pocket knife. My brother gave me a Buck CrossLock when i was 10. Had it for several years until it was confiscated by a LEO who stopped me for skate boarding. I bought another to replace it because I didn't know any better. I then proceeded to loose that one a few months later. I finally bought my first good knife, a Kershaw, when i was 18.

My first and lovely knifes (bought by me, others were gifts):
fixed - SOG Mini Pentagon (M14),
folder - Kershaw Sapphire (KS1450).

My first knife was called a peanut made by Camillus. I found it on the ground at my cub scout camp when i was 7yrs. It was a military knife made in stainless steel and had a blade, can opener, bottle opener, leather punch. Blade was stamped 1968 which was the year i was born. I still have that knife and i bought another just like it a few years ago with the blade stamped 2006.

I can't recall my first knife but i remember falling in love with them because of my granddad. We didn't live in the same state so it was always a special time to go visit them during the year when i was growing up. My granddad liked to whittle and so i would sit next to him and do the same. He would make little figures and i would make a pile of kindling -- but it made for happy memories. It wasn't until many years later that I really starting collecting and paying attention to brands. I still have a sweet spot for those cheap folders they used to give away as promotional items at banks (different times then :))or the local drugstores -- because thats what Grandpa often had.

Probably an old SAK. I know I had a 110, but the SAK had the gadget factor. I still have a sak I bought 20 years ago. They last forever.

I don't remember my first knife. Had several for many years. Always carried a penknife. I do remember my first Case penknife. Lost it long ago. It was nice and held a good edge. Have had several since then.
