Do you rotate your EDC?

Funny, I keep my knives in a small Gerstner collectors chest.

I have that sitting on a large oak 8-drawer roller cabinet. Basically a large wooden tool box, which houses my socks & underwear and stuff. (yeah, I'm single).

So, when I'm getting dressed the morning, I picked out a knife or two from the top chest, then the socks & underwear from the cabinet underneath.

I have three constant carries, which are my Ryan M1 Biohazard, a Strider AR folder, and an Emerson 2000 CQC6. I would never be able to decide amongst these three, so I just carry all three every day. Along with these three constants, I usually carry a fourth piece which rotates between an Emerson 98 Commander, a 2000 Commander, a Mini Commander, a UT6, and an LCC/DA.
Why do I carry four blades at a time? Because that's what makes me happy. :)

Yeah, I rotate knives daily. But I've got way too many. It's time to cut some of the ones that never seem to find their way into my pockets from the flock. You know what I mean, quality knives that you thought you'd use, but just never do.

Yeah, I rotate all the time, according to mood and whatever daily activies I have planned. I don't think I could ever have just one EDC, any more than I could be satisfied reading just one book or eating just one kind of food. Variety being, of course, the spice of life.

For me, it's not so much organized "rotating" as it is simple selection.

I wake up in the mornin, open my top drawer, and pick a knife - pretty simple, I always bear in mind what i'm supposed to do that day as well. Example:
When i'm going somewhere or meeting some people where i'm concerned they could be scared of my knife - I choose my Camillus EDC, minute enough not to scare most folks.
When I want something strong, small, lightweight, for general purpose - not scary, but no toy either - my Spydie Native Lightweight usually wins (god I love that knife)
Or like today - when I think I need to tackle a big job or just don't give a lick if people are afraid of my knife - Spydie Chinook - buhahaha.
My Kershaw Blackout and Outdoor Edge Magna are both outta circulation at the moment because I wrecked their tips :(
Also, I often carry my Camillus ARCLITE as my "Pajama knife", for when i'm running around in my pocketless PJs but still need to cut stuff :)

Oh, yes! I rotate, therefore, I am.:) Lately, though, my large Sebbie is pretty much always tucked IWB, right side. Another folder will be roatated either in pocket or clipped right front jeans pocket. That may be a 710HS or SERE2000 or any number of others.

I guess a small sebbie goes with me about everywhere. When I am worried that I may possibly go somewhere that enforces knife-nazi laws, I sub out a BM 910 (M2) or a Buck 532 (in my pocket)...just in case... I just couldn't bear loosing my sebbie. :) Other than that, I have a Leatherman Micra and a Photon II on my keychain. I work at a university...so I choose to carry descretely (IWB). On weekends, I often throw on a Leatherman Wave with a belt sheath.

I don't ever rotate either. I like to standardize my EDC. I want to be exactly as prepared one day as the next where ever I am, whether in the city or in the woods. If I would change my knives I would feel like I'm cheating on them.

And that is:
1. tactical folder front pocket
2. small tactical folder front left pocket on my keys
3. neck knife
4. multi tool back pocket
5. fixed blade 6inch quarter inch thick in my back pants.

Besides small first aid equip in my pack, cell phone, bandana, asp baton, maglite flashlight, etc.

nope, just have one folder.......TNT :D

once in a while add a simonich or blackwood neck knife

I rotate. Sort of.
The neck knife and SAK are always the same, and a small Sebenza is my only "small" folder, and is usually stuck in one pocket or another, but I rotate between 4 folders and a fixed blade that are ~3.5-4" depending on what I think I'll need for the day. My "primary" carry knives:)

Caryy a 91 mm SAK and SAK Classic with photon II red attached, every day independent of circumstances. Just used my SAK to take apart and reassemble my kerosene heater this afternoon. Always the handiest knife I own, though not because of the blades.

For a one-handed folder, lately been rotating between Calypso Jr. Micarta (if I have to go into a federal building or the District), AFCK 812 (no federal building entry planned), or AFCK 800 (sometimes on weekends or after work, never to work).

Sometimes put the Leatherman Wave on my belt on weekends or traveling by car, otherwise it stays in my briefcase at work.

Regards,

David

i change on my mood and feeling. but the main knife that seems to go with me everywhere is a Wally Hayes Hornet in IWB, Crawford tanto neck knife, MOD Hornet, and a mirca.

i still have more knives but it a challenge to pick the right one.

I guess this is the male equivalent of "What shall I wear to work today?" or "Honey, does this knife make me look fat?" You guys are just as bad as us women, come on, admit it!

It's true! :D

I mostly dress for comfort and function and I carry the same knives when doing that. I always have a CRK Large Sebenza in a belt pouch and either a REKAT Sifu or Kershaw Boa clipped to my right front pocket. I don't exactly rotate those last two, the Boa is for when I'm at work, and subject to a 4" blade limit.

However...

Sometimes I do dress for appearance. On those occasions I will shamelessly admit to selecting my hardware to match my wardrobe. I even bought one knife, a Benchmade 850, specifically to go with the outfit I wore to my sister's wedding last year.

Why should women be the only ones who get to accessorize? ;)

Good one Amy:)
Do these six knives make me look fat?
Do these six knives make me look like a crazy person?

Usually I go for dollar value. Do I want to carry $100 worth today, or $1200 worth?
