I honestly don't even know anything about it except that Mr. Cold Steel isn't fond of it.

I recently did. Every once in a while I would pick one up at Barnes & Noble. With prices the way they are, if you buy 2-3 a year you might as well just subscribe.

I like the magazine, but some of the writers don't seem to know much about anything. I think Krause Publcations hires "writers", and not knife people. They do have several good commentators, but I read alot of retractions published in the next issues. They are starting to get like Yankee Magazine. Their writers don't know shit about New England. They go through the motions.

It's hard to pay for what BF provides in a more up to date fashion with people who know more about knives than most writers. Sometimes I skim through it at Barnes & Noble.

Agreed, but it makes such good bathroom reading material (I do not have a laptop to take in with me!) or at least to check out the pics/ads/upcoming knife shows!

I subscribe for the pictures, makers profiles, Knife Talk and Goddard/Szilaski's Q&A. They can keep the rest. -Matt-

I buy an issue occasionally. I quit subscribing to all magazines years ago, too many issues are full of articles that hold zero interest for me. I look them over on the newstand, and if it's good I buy it, if not, back on the shelf.

I buy an issue now and then whenever I can even find one on the newstands or if I see an article or maker in it that I like or want to get for some other reason. Seems to me that both Blade Magazine and Tactictal Knives Magazine have great color pics of art knives and an occasional plug for a production knife and some custom makers with little if any critic or comparison but if you want substance of the written word and knowledge, at least what I like to read I tend to zero in more on the more newspaper like black and white Knife World publication and rate it higher than both those magazines personally.

Strictly speaking, I don't "subscribe" to anything. Will continue to get American Rifleman for the rest of my life thanks to the NRA benefactor membership, but that's about it.
