I used to, but I got tired of getting it two weeks after it hit the news stands. I only subscribe to Knife World now.

Yes, I subscribe. Like Homer said, it's great bathroom reading, keeps me up to date(with pictures) on the latest knives coming out, and I enjoy the reviews. Works for me, every month, doesn't seem to get old.

Cheers,
Jon

Interesting take. Would you not consider Ed Fowler a somewhat "knowledgeable" knife writer? And one of the most capable story tellers to boot, IMHO.

Yes I do. I wrote ( They do have several good commentators, but I read alot of retractions published in the next issues.) Some of the writers are excellent. Some of them are not. I still like the magazine overall.

I subscribe (have been for a few decades). I think it is worth the price just to read what Ed Fowler writes, but read the other articles also. Some of it is old news (just by the nature of the printed word), but I always get something out of it and see some knives that I have not seen.

I used to but it's not "tactical" enough for me...Too much custom stuff in it.

I'm up for renewal right now... still pondering if I should. It seems to me that at least 6 out of the 12 issues a year are along the lines of "upcoming Blade show" "almost time for Blade show" "Blade sneak peak inside" "the knives of Blade show" "this year's Blade show winners" " next years Blade show ultra early sneak peak" etc. etc. etc. It seems to me that the quality is slipping these last few years.

I voted no, I don't subscribe. Its cheaper than buying one here and there, but I don't wanna support Blade or its views with my dollars. I used to LOVE Knives Illustrated under Bud Lang, but since then I just don't see the knife magazines being oreinted to me..I mean its fun to read sometimes, but Its not really a magazine for me and how I look at my hobby. Its like its meant for a totally different more mainstream or something audience...not me.

nope. i used too some years ago. price seemed to be getting a little too high so i let it run out. ,,,VWB.

I read one issue, and it reminded me too much of the so-called "Gun Magazines" that are written to sell advertising, by people who have no idea what they're writing about. Mall ninjas with word processors.:(:thumbdn::(

No I don't subscribe ,I am a total idiot and pay full newstand price(more actually because it costs more in Canada even though our dollar is worth at least as much as the US$) for almost every issue.

I am lucky I guess...my favorite local knife store sells back issues for a buck...I can wait a month or two to read it...lol.

Who else, um, actually LIKES to see all the ads? :o I love looking at the magazines, seeing something I like, checking it out on the net, and seeing its a custom/semi-custom, and cost $400! :p

I agree, up to a point (Wayne Goddard's column is always worth reading). I have subscribed for a long time, but the subscription just ran out and I am not going to renew. It has gotten to be one long repetition of either decadent "art knives" (which, in my opinion, are worth no more than the resale value of the expensive, gaudy materials) or shilling for mass produced factory knives.

I subscribe, and will continue to do so until they go out of business. They support the industry and I enjoy most everyone of there monthly articles. Although we get up to the date information on the forums, they offer a different story or spin.
When the printed media goes by the way side, we will all loose that segment of the knife industry, and the stories those writer’s report and there side of the business.

Nope!! I find Tactical Knives magazine better and more suitable for the way I use knives; not to put the magazine down in any way though

:jerkit:
