Do you think a Busse TGLB has the power to stab through a skull

not surprisingly cold steel did a video tested on a pigs skull. you tube removed the video for it being disgusting and violating there policy. the fixed blades didn't have to much trouble but the folders did. However I think on a zombie it would be much easier do to the decaying and rotting flesh.

I remember that one. Both the fixed blades and folders barely penetrated the skull, but choppers went through pretty easily.

Good thing Busses are also good choppers.

I am sure I could stab my LBTG at least 3 inches into the top/side/back or front of the skull of a person if I was upset enough to want to do so. The knife in question would be more than strong enough to pierce most animal skulls even a pig I would say as long as the knife went in in a clean stab without any sideways movement. Straight in is not too bad for most decent knives just don`t wobble or they will snap if not made of INFI. Also it is true the LBTG has no stored energy from the factory;)

Any quality fixed blade will stab through a human skull with enough force, the Busse would have no problem at all doing that, and it could penetrate things that a person would not have enough strenght to push it through.
FerFAL

So, we all agree that the knife will be able to do it, but have some doubts as to the operator.
All I can say is: practice!!!
:D

If these knives can do it, a high end combat weapon like the TGLB would have NO TROUBLE doing it

yeah - look at those stick tangs!
now the real question for the forensic connoisseur is: can one commit suicide by stabbing oneself in the skull?

Not physical strength.
Velocity, mass, and the profile of the tip of the blade.
It's why the original Lawn Darts were banned ages ago.

Yep, seen people stabbed in the head (and dead) with LOTS less than a TGLB, and they didn't just bleed out.. ;)

If the tip didn't survive (I'm sure it would) at least you'd be able to get a replacement :D

On TV about 10 years ago I watched this documentary late one night about guys who live alone out in the bush for years on end.

One of the guys they showed was this thin, wiry, scruffy bearded dude who had two very large bowie knives each carried vertically tip up in some sort of leather chest harness carry thing he had made. (Imagine two Bowie knives strapped tip up to backpack straps). On the show he demonstrated how he could cross his arms and draw them both at once. It was kind of cool. I remember one of the knives had a white handle, the other was brown or black. The blades weren't shiny - they looked like handmade forged knives of some sort.

Anyway, in this documentary the guy said he only carried his knives and caught game with traps - no gun. When the camera man asked him about being worried about bears and cougars he got this incredulous look on his face, unsheathed one of his huge blades and told a story about being attacked by a black bear once and that he had fought it off with his knives, and how he had killed it by stabbing through the skull.

I'd love to see that show again. Anyone seen that documentary and know what it was?

pigs, black bears? These are normal animals that occur naturally in our environment. A zombie is a different story-there are different kinds of zombies too. I've seen zombies that were easily taken down and I've seen zombies that can take 50 rounds to the chest and head and they kept coming back to life. I've seen zombies that move slow and I've seen zombies that move real fast. Some zombies have very toxic blood as well that can eat right through most ordinary steels- these will require some sort of knife made out of INFI. A TGLB would easily survive any zombie slaying but remember young warrior, your choice of equipment is important but zombie eradication training is actually much more important to be able to survive. Move fast, stay low, remember the code, and make sure you have enough INFI and AMMO. ......good luck and may the force be with you

man, you seem to see a lot of zombies... very cool

Killing a zombie by stabbing downward (thus aided by gravity), with a relatively hefty knife (its no FFBM, but still), into a fairly thin bone like the cranial vault, which has already decayed somewhat? Absolutely, I think a TGLB could do that in the hands of the average adult.

Still...now I think of it I am almost POSITIVE that my TGLB will not be a suitable tool for the job.....as a result of this revelation I ALMOST CERTAINLY NEED a Busse or Kin AXE.... Mrs Andy will understand when I explain that this is to better/properly protect her and the Fur Kids...!!!!! ;)

Your logic is unassailable. A Bussekin hawk is clearly a necessity, and as family men, it's our responsibility to buy one. I will explain to my wife that i'm buying it for her...

I mean, it's really almost a present for her right?
