Airport security is NOT standardized. There is still a line somewhere that you will get through carrying a Strider AR...there is another line somewhere you will end up in custody for a Ladybug.

The degree of airport security will never be consistent. It is always going to be somwhat of a crapshoot. The quality of security personnel is going down. It will tend to become more lax as time goes on without another terrorist incident in this country. Eventually you will be able to smuggle a street sweeper through Logan Airport again, just like the good old days.

Not caling anyone a liar, but I find that really, reallly difficult to believe. If a guard missed it on the scan that's one thing, but to handle it and give it back? A serrted Endura? Doesn't add up. You sure this was boarding a plane...and in the last year?
 
Not adding fuel to the fire... but with the menacing looks of a SE endura with SS scales? any un-knife-knut security guy would freak out on the spot now.....
