a few weeks ago joebobx stopped by and dropped off a few knives to get sharpened. one of the knives joe had left with me is a scrapyard that he made a sheath for using plastic and green duct tape. last weekend chuck geyer stopped over to pick up a knife so he could make a sheath and seen joe's home made sheath. he decided joe's knife needed a safe sheath so he made him this one. joe is headed over to the sandbox soon so now he has a nice sheath to carry his scrapyard in. lets give chuck a big  for this one. he made the sheath as a gift to joe and i sharpened up his knives for free. here is another sheath chuck made for jtr357 which is set up for vertical or horizontal carry. chuck makes some sweet sheaths

also, what city in ohio are you in? i have family in dayton and williamsburg.

chuck makes some sweet sheaths for sure. its neat how he done the camo pattern too. maybe he'll post how it was done. that bottom knife is one i made for jtr357. he had chuck make the sheath for it. i'm just north of dayton about 30 miles west of columbus.

Hi all,
Richard I were chatting today on the phone about this camo sheath and how it was made. It was pretty cool to hear how it was done, but I will not spoil it. LOL
So Hopefuly the maker of it will get involved in this thread.
Great job on the sheath Chuck.

Bryan

Thanks for the kind words, y'all. I hope it works well for joebobx. He and the sheath will be in the A-stan shortly, so please keep joebobx in your thoughts.

I used the pattern pieces for the sheath to determine how big a piece of leather I needed. I cut that out, then did the camo pattern on the entire piece. Once dry, I turned it over and traced the patterns without looking at the camo. I hoped this would give it a 'not forced' look for the camo.
I used 2 coatings of beeswax/parrifin as the top coat.

Chuck
