Do you think LE FBM worth the extra money over CG FBM?

Depends

I enjoy using knives and the CG may be a better user because of the blade design.

I think the non-corrugated blade will be an attractive feature that people will be willing to pay for. There are quite a few traditionalists out there, and I'll bet this forum sees more than one thread about the virtues of the limited BMs for use because of the non-corrugated blade. For evidence, I point to the demise of they asymmetric edge, which may have performance assets but was strange and new. Time will tell, though.

Mm the FBM LE, cash is nothing when you can't enjoy it! Look at it, beat the crap out of it, sit in front of the tv with it! man the possibilities are endless :D  I know i am gonna like that blade a lot, heck if it scares the shit out of people when they see me walking in/around the house with it is just priceless, burglars will think twice  i could buy a dog, but the FBM dont cost food now does it :D

Ok back to work, got to make one of my HH nekkid and shiny

Blade design aside, the CG will make a better user simply in the cost difference.

I would be amazed if anyone who paid the extra for the LE would actually whang it on anything.

But is sure to become a most desireable collector.

You won't be unhappy with either of them is my bet. If you are going to beat it and can't justify the extra cash, then so what? Not like the CG FBM is anything to sneeze at! As far as collectibility is concerned, the LE may be worth a ton in the next few years, but I am betting that the market for $1200 FBMLEs will be a lot less than a guy selling his CG FBM for $500 or whatever. Both will be highly collectible, but one will be easier to afford for most of us especially for newer collectors who aren't sure.

ROFLMAO !!!!!!!!!!

OK, Rat, amaze me. LOL

Porkgunner is quite right, the CG is going to be awesome all by itself.

It's like this, I would beat on a CG before I beat on my last SHBM (had 7). I would beat on my SHBM before I beat on the LE.

Luckily, I have a old BR that I DO beat on which saves a lot of confusion. LOL

I would beat on my LE before I beat on my SHBM.. Oh wait, I already beat on my SHBM, so there goes that theory.

they are all collectible, however, the cheaper ones always gain more in value. I don't think there is more bang for your buck than the AK47, but the CG SHBM will be close.

You do not want an LE... there is nothing to see here, these are no the knives you are looking for......

I will be quite happy to show you the damage this knife can do. I am all about the user, and I LOVED the "feel" of this knife at Blade.... I just wanted it to be heavier, and look what happened!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D I will post pics of the carnage as soon as it arrives.

I agree with this 100%. Unless you are getting an LE for collecting only, and then willing to wait potentially a long time for a buyer to come along who can actually afford it, the CG is probably a better deal. You can go out and beat it and you won't feel bad. It won't hurt in the checkbook nearly as much and will still increase in value even if you DO beat on it.

When LEs go up for sale on the secondary market, I am sure folks will be asking $1000 + for them, but then the competition to have you as a customer begins to change (can you say "custom") and that can have a dramatic impact on how quickly something will sell. On the other hand, the CGs will also go up in price, but will still be in reach of the common guy who just wants a piece of Busse history without having the most expensive piece of Busse history. Just my .02.

Wow! Thanks guys for all your replies. I think I will go for a LE version. I am not really a Busse collector only have a FSH & HR & ST56 on its way. All the Busse knives I have are users, so the LE FBM will be a expensive big user.

Wow you only have a FSH, HR, & St56, and I suppose your car is "only" one of those old Shelby Cobra's. :D That's already a sweet group.

Combat Grade Fusion Battle Mistress: $387-527

Limited Edition Fusion Battle Mistress: $697

The look on your face when you see an FBMLE chop through a cinder block:

Priceless

Sure hope so.... I just bought one! :D

HELL YA THEY'RE WORTH EVERY FLIPPIN PENNY!!!!!!!!

It's a CG for me. Can't afford both and I want to WHACK! I have a HOFSH and methinks it's a bit heftier than I want in a knife (And no, I'm not selling...). Methinks the CG will be way enough blade for the size!

Cheers,
BJB :D

Just ordered my LE. Mortgaged the house to get one but what the hell - I like it (a lot.) Don't buy one if you think it's too expensive. Just makes the value of the LE grow grow and grow! Did I say grow? :D

A cinder block? Ha! That's nothing for a FBMLE..

Heck, my .25" thick nightshift M-6 can do that with ease!!! :D

Just put my order in for one. I'll have to sell pretty much every extra thing I don't need to afford it, especially with the damned sales tax I have to pay due to living in Ohio.

my LE FBM will be a pure user. i wanted the heft, the satin finish (cleaning/water resistance/looks) and the handles. if all goes well it will look a bit like cliff's (although i might keep it a bit cleaner) and serve me for years. although i have come to accept the prevalence of "collectors" amongst the knife community, i only buy tools for one thing, TO BE USED! truth be told, i could only afford one, and it was going to be the one i like most regardless of price. if i could have afforded a second i would have bought a CG blue/grey and used BOTH. as far as resale, never crossed my mind. with tools i always try (as my wallet allows) to look past the initial cost. had the cg had either a satin or DC option i would have likely opted for it instead. oh well....
ryan

Let me see, $85.00 for mag handle, $100.00 for a Satin finish, Base price of about $400.00 in .25, add about 33% thinkness that would add about $130.

Seems to me it is kind of a deal considering the current market for all old Battle Mistresses.
