Do you think there'll ever be another update to the Umnumzaan?

Are there any changes you guys would like to see to the Umnumzaan? Canted pocket clip like the Inkosi and 31? Maybe an Insingo version?
 
I had one umnumzaan, sold it. The ergos never fully agreed with my hand, the lockbar tab for release mainly. I let it go to a real good fella here and he loves it. Worked out for both of us. It wasn’t getting much pocket time from me.
 
The Umnumzaan and the insingo are already very close one from the other in many aspects

the only real “update” that can be made to put it in line with the other more recent lines would be to switch for an angled pocket clip

I have the "Star Tac" version and totally agree with you, the lockbar release is quite sharp. Thinking about selling it for this very reason.
 
I don't like the lock-bar release either though I do carry mine once in a while. A reduction in size of that 'tab' would be cool, I can't see any reason it needs to stick up that far, it's the only 'hot-spot' on the knife. I'm ok with S35VN, what would be cool would be a Wharnie blade just for fun, CRK doesn't do one.
 
I wasn't around when the Umnuumzaan first came about, but it strikes me as a Chris Reeve thinking, let's see what a Sebenza looks like if I added Hinderer features.

That’s the only complaints I have about that knife. It doesn’t necessarily hurt but I just can’t ever get my hand in a good comfortable grip. Always adjusting it. Also I think once I mentally get it in my head I’m always thinking of it

Ironically, the lockbar release was added due to complaints from the public. The early versions, like mine, do not have this feature.

Here is a 1st gen umnumzaan. The lockbar release is still present, but much much smaller in size. Chris responsed to people’s complaints that it was too hard to open by adding the larger release tab, and also adding the overtravel stop to prevent damage from people putting too much pressure on the now larger tab.

The larger tab is now a hotspot for some, and some people don’t like looks of the overtravel stop.

As with anything in the knife world......you can’t win!

A new umnumzaan for comparison. Note the “choil” is now fully occupied by the release tab. I have never handled a new one, so I don’t know if this would bug me or not.

^^People also complained about the design of the pivot which I always thought was one of the coolest features of the original.
