Thanks for the pics, quite a difference!Here is a 1st gen umnumzaan. The lockbar release is still present, but much much smaller in size. Chris responsed to people’s complaints that it was too hard to open by adding the larger release tab, and also adding the overtravel stop to prevent damage from people putting too much pressure on the now larger tab.
The larger tab is now a hotspot for some, and some people don’t like looks of the overtravel stop.
As with anything in the knife world......you can’t win!

I think one of the things that attract people to CRKs is the simplicity of their builds and how easy they are to break down and maintain. A pivot that requires a specialized tool to take apart (even if the tool was pretty easy to get your hands on) is a little antithetical to that design philosophy IMO so I can see why some people weren't a fan of it. It did look pretty cool, though.^^People also complained about the design of the pivot which I always thought was one of the coolest features of the original.
I'd be interested in buying it !I have the "Star Tac" version and totally agree with you, the lockbar release is quite sharp. Thinking about selling it for this very reason.
