Do you use the factory edge?

Depends on the knife and the edge it came with. Some are good to go out of the box, some need work. Some need stropping to deburr, but not full sharpening. Most benefit from an initial sharpening if only to remove steel that might be heat-fatigued from factory sharpening equipment.
