Do you use your Damascus knives?

Problem is, a lot of the "Damascus" blades these days are fake, even from some of the well-known names. It's just acid etched steel, and since the etched steel tends to be a lower quality choice, I see no reason to put it into service or even own it. The only purpose it can serve is as a display ornament. A fake ornament. It's a shame the market seems to have accepted this practice, but people buy it.
What well known names? The proof of this is to be found where? Enquiring minds want to know.....

I bought my Buck 110 new in 1990 and carried it quite a bit over the next 30 years. Had to re-etch it last year.....

I realized that my damascus knives have become safe queens. I think it happened subconciously. Then I forgot about them.lol
Do you actually "use" your damascus knives the same way as you do your non-damscus ones?

Hi Ken,

I gather you are the go-to man for Hattori knives!

Do you know where I can find one of the 80th Anniversary NL-5 IDUN in Cowry-X Damascus?
