Do you use your favorite knife?

Not really a knife made for the bush, but yes I do EDC my favorite. It would be a bigger lose to me not to use and enjoy it that way!

No conflict here. My favorite knives are easily replaceable, one of the criteria that makes them my favorites. I don't buy knives that I can't afford to lose, or are scarce (admire them, though :D).

I use my favorite knife all the time. I use it more often now then ever as a matter of fact.

I've got more than one favourite (how can one decide?), and it's probably a mix of two faves that see use per each one that doesn't... my parang bandol was been used and abused, cracked, dinged and chipped... my douk-douks go with me every day... my parang lading... I can't bring myself to mar its finish in use! :D

I do not have one favorite, but many favorites, and it changes all the time. I told myself if I was to collect a classification of useful tools, I must use the tools. So, I rotate any and all. I will even carry my eventually coveted Bladeforum knife, once I get it that is. The beauty is, that with a large collection, none will see any excessive wear. If I am doing some type of construction, I have some beaters that I do not mind abusing some.

Because my favorite knife is my favorite knife I try to use it as much as possible, even when somethimes scissors or other cutting things are just as quick :D

My favorite knives are the one's that give me the most joy when I use them. That's their purpose, to be used.

hey mmarkh,
if you read this, the goode knife that you posted, i am thinking about contacting brian at some time, he is from nc and getting him to make a skinner for my son, he is moving to washington state soon and will be doing a lot of hunting and the type that you have to dress the kill before moving it back to your starting point.

love the ironwood and looks just like the type that would serve him well in these endeavours.

to keep in context, i try to buy knives that are users and then those that are for collecting, but i have np using the collectors if the situation called for it...

take care ronnie

Got about 4 favorites, and carry/use one daily. Only thing about it is that I don't really need to use my favorite knife on a daily basis, but I carry it anyway. I use my smaller slipjoint for most of the tasks I need a knife for.

ronnie, you are correct in that Brian Goode makes knives that perfectly fit your description. Brian really makes a terrific knife.

One of my favorite knives is my Spyderco Lum Chinese ZDP. Even though it'd be difficult and expensive to replace, I carry it almost daily. I don't see why not!

Hmm, can't say I carry my favorite knife for the bush, but that's because my Seb's my current favorite knife. Of course, that may change soon, but we'll see.

Yup...use 'em all. But with some I'm a little more careful, like with my one of a kind Paramilitary/SE in D2 steel. Gifted to me by Sal himself
But it gets carried and used. ;)
