I've been seeing a lot of tv reports on Longevity, and I just saw a Dr. Perls on CBS's Sunday Morning. The Dr has a website where you answer a few questions and it predicts your Life Expectancy, as well as suggestions on how to live longer.

I had to answer the questions to find out for myself, because I want to know.
I hope you all will take the time and find out for yourselves. It's quick and painless, and who knows it may help you make some small changes that can add years to your life.

That seems to be a data mining operation. After getting you to invest 10 minutes or so answering questions they refuse to give you your results unless you give them an email address. I suggest using an email account that you won't mind getting spammed -- if you decide to do it at all.

Cougar, you're right they do ask for an email address.
I always use a seperate email account for such purposes.
I suggest everyone do the same.

Perls is a legitimate researcher. I doubt that he would spam you, but he may be interested in gathering data for a study.

I did not enter an email address, and it gave me my age results and comments. However, I would suggest that it would not be wise to enter one's email address to any of these types of sites.

I've seen some freeware computer program that does the same thing. And you don't have to give it your info. :D

Similar calculators can be found online at retirement planning and insurance websites.

It says I will live to 61, I am 63 this Jan. BTW, I used Cougars' email address as mine. Hope you did not mind Cougar.:p:p:D:D

I'm expected to live to 90.

Eventhough I am fit and healthy and lead a very healthy lifestyle I thought my family history would put me well under that. Nice surprise, if this can be taken seriously.

My attorney did a life expectancy on me during the course of a lawsuit a few years back. 74 years, ten months and a few days. I'll be one partying SOB in early Dec 2048!

My numbers are 88 and 95 (if I make some small changes in my lifestyle).
If living longer is a priority, there are some relatively easy steps you can take to help you achieve your goal. If living a longer, healthier life isn't important to you, than you really have to ask yourself why.

A cynical person might predict a data mining operation would give answers the suckers would feel happy about so they would tell other people about it and get them to go and supply more data....

I don't want to know how long I'll live. On some days, I'm sure it'll be too long...On other days, too short.

79 for me.

I could add about 15 years if I change some things, so it looks like I have a few things to work on.

Thanks for the link, Phil.

Your welcome Mike. I'm glad somebody got something out of the link besides me.
