Do you want to know How Long You'll Live?

OK, I filled out the test and came up with 82, could be expanded by 15 years by making recommended changes. I think that's completely unrealistic, even 82 is a stretch, considering my ancestors' lifespans:

My father passed at 62, and his father died in his 40s. That's one reason I get POed about mandatory Social Security deductions.
Mother's father lived past 70, but had a rough end with cancer. Smoking and job-related - people lived tough lives back then.
Grandmothers lived to be older, one mid-70s and one to 85.

BTW, you don't have to list your e-mail address to see the results.

I thought I would add the link to the CBS Sunday Morning Show that inspired this thread.

Also a quote from the piece that I found interesting.

"Consider how life expectancy has increased over the last two centuries. An average man born in 1800 had a life expectancy of 35 years. In 1900, he would have made it all the way to 47. By 1950, average life expectancy was up to 68 years, and now it’s up to 78."

My Mother and Father both came from relatively large families, and I can only think of two men in the family that lived past 70. I've always figured I'd be taking my dirt nap at around 70. Making it to 75 would be a shock, 85 unthinkable, 95 just too darn long. I think living well in good health without pain, is more important than just living longer. So I personally would implement the changes suggested simply as an end to stay healthier.

I tried my hardest to answer truthfully, it said I will live to 74. Who knows, I could get hit by a car, I could live to be a hundred (several family members have). I realize everyone wants to watch their kids have kids etc, they want to grow old with their loved one, and so do I. I just don't think that I should put much stock in something like that. It's fun to fill out, but for me, I am 6'3", 350 lbs, stressed out, but eating healthier and getting more activity. Everyone has their own risks in this, and while I appreciate the entertainment value and thank you for it, I wouldn't put that much stock in it.

Oh, and living a healthy lifestyle doesn't mean you can't cheat. It doesn't mean rabbit food m-f, and then pig out on the weekend either, like some of my co workers seem to believe. We have to treat ourselves, and if we can live to 95 doing that, so be it.

Mine says I'll live to be 88, and could add ten years by quitting smoking(but...I do that all the time!).
According to how long making the suggested changes will affect your lifespan, I can supposedly live to 115+. 88 will be fine, thanks.

It says I'll live 3 years longer if I get married. Doesn't mention how much sooner I'll lose the will to live, though:D
