I thought that might get your attention.
Here's what I want to know. Does it ever get to the point when you're carrying a knife (particularly a folder) that you completely forget that you've got it on you? Or does the fact that you're carrying always remain in your consciousness at some level? And if it does stick in your mind, does that ever bother you?
So I'll kick it off.
I work in an office and I carry lightweight folders (typically three ounces or less) deep in my left front pocket. Nothing goes into that pocket besides my EDC and I never use pocket clips. By doing that, once I drop my knife in my pocket, I quickly forget it's there. I don't concern myself that my knife might get banged up by something in my pocket like my keys or loose change. (I keep those items in my right front pocket.) I also never worry that my knife might come unclipped and fall out of my pocket or that prying eyes might spot the clip and complain to HR that I'm carrying a "weapon". That works well for me because some of my folders are expensive and I don't like having to invest a lot of mental energy thinking about them all the time.
So how about you?
