Do your knives disappear when you carry them?

Just started EDC a few months ago and I do forget I have it. Until I come across a need and remember it is in my pocket. Will have to be careful when I travel to make sure I remove it and put it in luggage before I go through security. :)

I find myself checking to see if my Leatherman Juice is still in my pocket way more than if my Sebenza is still clipped. That Juice has slid out way too many times. I thought I lost it once until I found out the next morning it was in my chair at work from where it slid out.

I forget about them when I have them not clipped and in the pocket. Otherwise They're clipped on either right side pocket. I too fiddle with them a bunch when they're clipped and I'm afraid they'll come loose. Thing is though I've had many fall out of my pockets versus very little that unclip themselves. Car seat, couch, deskchair, bed... all due to sliding out of my pockets.

I wear khakis to work and have my Benchmade 940 clipped in my left pocket with the Contego deep carry clip. The BM940 is so light, and it rides deep in pocket, I can't even feel or see it. Also, it doesn't pull down on my khakis at all.

Yep. I carry my knives clipped to the rear right pocket and only notice them when I grab my wallet which shares the same pocket. The front right is occupied by a Ruger LCP + spare mag in a pocket holster (which also disappears). One of the worst feelings I've ever had was to reach for my knife or pistol and realize I didn't swap them over to the new pants when I changed clothes.

As far as losing knives, I've never lost one for more than a few weeks, but it was a Kershaw Leek that was not clipped to my pocket at the time. In jeans, I can carry either clipped or unclipped with adequate retention. In the scrubs I wear at work, I really need to carry either front right pocket clipped or in the waistband clipped. Scrubs have horrible pocket retention on anyting.

I'm exactly the opposite. I keep my knife unclipped in my LFP but I have a Micra, peanut lighter and AAA flashlight clipped to my RFP. I don't particularly care whether they come unclipped and I lose them, but so far that hasn't happened. And it's nice not to have to fish for them among my keys and pocket change.
