  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Do your spydercos have a theme?

I got to play with a domino for about 3 weeks and couldn't damage the edge (not that I was beating on it but I wasn't babying it either) from the start of me being a knife nut till I got to experience CPM-M4 D2 had always been my favorite steel so XHP got my attention quickly being touted as "stainless D2". I'm looking forward to more ~3" folders (not the back lock/FRN native) in XHP, it's very high on my want list but no current production knives in it are really calling to me other than the brown sprint milli and that's just a little to pricey for me.

I guess my "theme" is variety.

My current spyderco's (I've just completed a near total sell-off)
GB : CPM-M4
Dfly : ZDP-189
G10 UKPK : S30V
Original LB : AUS-6
PAC salt SE : H1
Delica 4 : VG-10
Byrd HB : 8Cr13MoV

I'm planning to pick up something in Super Blue (preferable solid SB, not laminated but not sure if that exists) and a P'Kal even tho I've got several S30V blades already I can't really argue the P'kal isn't unique plus I need a CBBL since I got rid of my manix's. Also need to add a frame lock spyderco to my collection, most likely a Southard, plus that'll give me CTS-204P; 2 birds, one [expensive] stone.

If it grabs my interest, I will get it. My collection is very random. I can look at hundreds of knives before I see something I can't say no to. I have one knife that I got as a gift and I do not like it at all. The normal process was not followed for me. It's a Benchmade 950 Rift. I had no idea I was getting it. No Matter what, I can't find any love for it. All the others......I can't part with.

The only theme mine have are "replacements." Two Delicas were stolen before I moved up to an Endura. The first one broke (my fault), and I still have its replacement, a grey FFG Endura. Should I lose it I'll definitely be buying another.

I love titanium. I just got my southard the other day and might just have to build around that because I want another...it is perfect.

other than that I am relatively varied in my selection, but I tend to focus more on size, with a preference towards the 3-3.5" blades.

Mostly different steels in the Military, Para2, and Mule models.

Hope they do a run of steels in the Manix2 XL.

I have a para 2, manix2 g10 and let and dragonfly 2. I just get the ones I like and can afford. I want a fwntlans knife so I'll prolly get the df with nishijin glass next. Should have in the first place.

I like to get a good spread of different locks and steels to give some diversity. Love the leaf shaped blades, but my para 2 has been a much loved exception to that.

My theme is what the knives will be used for (don't like having safe queens).

Starmate 2 - for heavy abusive jobs
Native frn - everyday carry for work
Dragonfly 2 salt - casual weekend carry
Kiwi - suit occasions

I have had numerous Spydercos move in and out of my collection. My current thought is to collect every variation of the Domino going forward. I have the black carbon fiber, and am awaiting delivery of the blue. This one just "fits" me to a T.

A user that carries well in my back right pocket. That would mostly sum up my knife buying theme.
