I am proud to be of german heritage, I own several Hk firearms, i was just wondering if Germany produces anything currantly. I know alot of small case style folders are available. Im looking for a nice edc tough blade like Benchmade , Spyderco, Ermerson Etc

dont own, but will eventually get a boker turbine (pohl)..I also think the titan defender (expensive) looks really nice...

the turbines are like $130 for the small ones and like $160 or so for the bigger ones..

Virtually all knives by Böker (not Böker PLUS) are german and VERY nicely built.

Then there is offcourse the already mentioned Pohl Force...

the turbine is a great tactical from boker. i have the leo damascus one, its real nice. the original ak-47 knife they make with the blood groove blade is also well made,as well as their afd & escrima folding dagger. they are all top quality folders.they have a few others made with similar materials & styles, but they seem overpriced........

I like this one http://knifereviews.org/index.php/home/folding-knives/boeker/8-black-forrest

Pohl Force is from German designer but i thought is have seen/read it was made somewhere else.
I was thinking it was Taiwan but found a site that says its made of Japanese 440c steel:confused:.
So i really don't know if its really German made.
I also read Germany is allowed to put Germany on the blade even if it's made somewhere else.

Boker is German and has some nice knives.
A lot to choose from.

Aside: I've been part of these forums for years, and had never heard of Pohl knives until I opened this thread. Ya learn something new every day at BF. This is a great place. :D

Pohl Force is a new company founded by knife designer Dietmar Pohl. The knives are made in Taiwan, but the quality is very high.

I was under the assumption that those knives were made in Europe but wasn't sure which country. That is disappointing that they are made in Taiwan.

Taiwan can make good knives like spyderco sage, bradley, etc.
The Pohl Force also gets good reviews.

But as the OP steted he wanted something German made but it's only German design and Brand.
Taiwan made with Japanese steel.

I read a topic overhere on BF about stiletto's.
It said Germany on the blades but they are Italian made as another member stated.
So there will be lots of so called German blades that are made somewhere else .

Pohl Force is excellent with a great quality/price. Now, the Alpha is a beast, and therefore the upcoming smaller Bravo is interesting because more EDC-able.
It seems that the Alpha One and Two are quite popular among European knife nuts.

One other brand must be mentioned: Eickhorn. Made in Solingen, typically for professionals. Their Pohl One (indeed, also designed by Mr. Dietmar Pohl !) is a very serious knife indeed:

The lovely Böker Turbine was already mentioned, and for EDC, the smaller Turbine 2 is really attractive. It uses French X15Tn steel which is somewhat similar to H1, because of the inclusion of nitrogen it's completely stainless. Performance of mine is an ok midrange, I have the impression that H1 is harder.

The Böker Titan Defender is one of the best built liner-locking production knives you've ever seen. The full micarta handled "lightweight" version is also attractive and so is the barely more democratic Titan Worker. All these are worth checking out but I think they might be rather expensive in the USA.

Heres my turbine damascus with scales i made, & the andrey, real nice folder,but also expensive;

Böker is your way to go there, check out the Turbine series, fantastic knives. Was really impressed when i got mine

Slightly off topic, but Eickhorn makes some rugged fixed blades as well, including the German Infantry "KM 2000" tanto which I picked up in Germany in 2007. That Pohl Force is a very cool folder which I'd love to get, but it seems they discontinued it almost as soon as they brought it out.

I own a boker eurofighter and a boker titan worker, both great blades, although i wish the titan was a tad bigger.

While its not made in germany, the boker jim burke mini resurection is in my opinion one of the best buys available.
