Doc Holliday's Slip joint

I think it's all speculation regarding what kind of knife Doc Holliday would have. Sure, as a well-to-do person it is easy to picture him with a nice pearl, ivory, or tortoise handled gem. But we don't know if his tastes extended to fancy cutlery. How many people do we know who have very expensive cars or guns, but are satisfied with a cheap truck stop knife?

If this is his knife, perhaps there is a sentimental attachment. It could have been a gift from someone who occupied a special place in his heart.

Although cartridge pistols were the latest technology, some noted gunfighters still used cap and ball. When Wild Bill Hickok died in 1876, he had a pair of 1851 Colt .36 Navy pistols.
