Let's just get right into it. Some time last year I got 2 Doc Shiffers, a custom Designated Marksman and a dress Mini Recon which were in pretty bad condition, and the Marksman had issues that weren't disclosed by the trader here on bladeforums (who has since disappeared). So, I sent both of these knives (separately since I received them at different times from different people) to Doc Shiffer for a much needed fixing and refinishing, after emailing him about it. I haven't received any communications from him in the past 4-5 months.

The Designated Marksman went out in November 2017, and the Mini Recon went out in February 2018. We spoke over email briefly in November, and he sent an email in February but it didn't really contain any real information. I don't know if he's received either knife, if he's working on them, if he's even alive.

So to the point of all this: has anyone had contact with Doc Shiffer recently? Anyone know what he's up to? If so, how should I get in touch with him?

I found a thread that he was deployed (3 months)during the time you sent the knives in. He got back in Feb. He says there is a phone # on his web site-which could be different then the one you are familiar with, since he said his web site was hacked while gone. He also has a son in the business Mike or Michael on instagram. That is about all I found.
I found this on USN and his last activity there was 6/21-so he is alive

I'm pretty sure Doc was at Blade Show this year and he has been active on Instagram. Try to shoot him a DM on IG. That's how i have communicated with him in the past.
 
Doc has always done well by me. I’ve had luck contacting him on instagram or pm on USN. He’s a stand up guy.
 
If I may suggest....
Contact Doc on Instagram... he will respond in no time...
Every time I contact him there he replies.
 
Thanks for the advice guys. I managed to contact him through his son, and he's almost done working on my knives. I should be getting them back soon enough. All info that has been provided is very much appreciated!
