Doctored?

I think the Schrade shield and blade etch may have been added to an unfinished Copenhagen SFO knife from a bin that came from the closing sales of the factory. What do you think? This doesn't look like kosher to me. Thanks for your opinions! Hello Codger!!!?

Take a look at the second post down on the link, It does mention about the 165 with a Limited Edition etch, not sure about the Schrade badge though.

Here's one with all the bells and whistles, although as Russell says there were probably some made with the limited edition etch as well. That Schrade shield throws me off a bit though, you'd think they'd at least want some identity other than the tang stamp. Interesting how both the Copenhagen shield and the Schrade shield are shaped the same, maybe the whole setup was made to use up extra inventory of Cope blade blanks:

I don't believe it was doctored. I have both. I'll try to do a side-by-side while there's still a little light. brb

If doctored, the doctor did a good job. I think some Schrades were designed just to trip up collectors 20 or 30 years later. Anything is possible. With the price of Schrades lately, I wish I had a semi trailer full of parts from the bankruptcy auction. I would wager a guess new USA Schrade knives are being put together still.

I now have the knife in hand, and I don't think it is doctored, either, just wierd. There is another thread here about the same knife. Something about "correct sheath."

Okay, here we go. Sorry about the color. The light is failing here. The "Limited edition" came with a brown sheath, the "Copenhagen" came with a black sheath.
