Thanks. I know what you mean about long pulls on old looking blades. Two of my favorites are an old Camillus jack, and a Craftsman small stockman made by Schrade.
Looks real nice, your knife looks much better than the images used by GEC, I am also a fan of long pulls, swedges, and patinas. There is just something about them that really adds a certain quality to a knife.
Continuing last night's slightly off topic discussion, here are two more long pull photos, including my grandfather's Schrade Walden 708Y that I forgot to include last night.
I'll play, all of these I picked up at the flea market, Schrade small stockman ( Doug's fault ), Camillus Barlow, H. Boker & Co's improved cutlery teardrop jack, Hammerbrand fishing knife.
The Schrade and H. Boker have the quality of GEC in F & F, walk and talk, no gaps, blades centered, no rub, the Camillus and Hammerbrand are also really well made.
Here are some updated group shots, including the Böker Tree Brand barlow. Although, I have to confess there is another on the way, another small Schrade-made Craftsman. Something about that old steel with long pulls really attracts me!
And this one is included just for pertinux. Joy had to investigate what I was doing. She came close and inspected the knives. Satisfied with their arrangement, she took her customary position.
Thanks for that Pete, and you posted the catalog from my birth year! I followed the url to get a better look. From that page I would love to have either a 233, a 234, or especially a 236 -- the bottom three on the left in your first screen shot.
