Dodo alternatives?

Unfortunately, handling either is impossible....no knife stores in fort worth or waco carry them....which is interesting, because fort worth has some pretty substantial knife stores.

No Dodo at the House Of Blades in Lake Worth? Jeez, I thought the old guy that owned that store had two of just about everything. (and he charges two times the price :D )

Paul Chen's Citizen? Half open locked position is an added bonus. Opens kinda like a Paul knife. Esav, you've got one don't you? Thought I recalled you mentioning one a while back, but I've taken a lot of shots to the head, and my memory's a little suspect. If so, impressions?

I have a dodo (blue, plain edge) it's a great little knife. Good ergonomics. So i would recommend buying one. You could also look into the new Spyderco Swick. Small fixed S30V warncliff blade on a thicker spot handle. Extremely tough small fixed blade. Unbreakable, and due to configuration very hard to loose during stress

Limited production though ( 450+ units produced), the spyderco crowd is stockpiling them so be fast.:)

I don't remember it being at house of blades (it's pretty out of my way) but I've been planning on going back soon anyway.

That paul chen knife is beautiful and definitely the sort of thing I'm looking for...any links for it? I probably won't get it for this particular need because I think it might appear scary....but maybe for another use...it sure isn't ugly like these two. Hm....would like to hold one, definitely...

I've got Paul Chen's Guandong folder, with the same locking mechanism as the Citizen. Not bad, but not the absolute best precision mechanism. I wouldn't mind the Citizen if it locks up tight, but you have to remember that a push dagger can be a legal problem.

Can someone take some photos of them holding the dodo and compared to common knives? (Para, minigrip, delica, etc) As many photos as possible....it's unlikely I'm going to be able to handle this before I buy it, but it's growing on me.

Also, does it have steel liners?

might be a strange alternative, but it might work - how about MT Vector - really excellent little cutter
