Does 154CM stand out at anything anymore?

Most of the people on this forum never use a knife for anything more than filling a pocket (or the box it came in on a shelf in their closet). So the only difference between 154CM and S110V would be what somebody sticks in a chart and puts on the Internet. It doesn't amount to a hill of beans to most people. If you actually use a knife, and happen to be a knife enthusiast, you are one of the very rare, very small percentage of people reading this and realize that it hardly matters what letters and numbers are used to describe the steel in your pocket. You know how to use it and because you use it, you know how to maintain it. Find the steel that works for you, because it's what comes in the design you like and want to use. Otherwise, keep waiting for the latest and greatest and thank you for being successfully advertised to, you are the reason I get to pick and choose from so many awesome knives! ;)

If you are offended by this post, well, that's not my problem. :)

Yeah, this is a knife forum you know. I agree with you that most people here have more knives than they need and therefore some knives sit around, but I guarantee you most people here use knives! Think about your statement and how ridiculous your declaration is (writen on a KNIFE forum):

He really isn't as far off as you think. ;)

Most of the people who really use their knives aren't on knife forums, and they are using knives like Buck 110's, gas station knives etc.

Use is more than opening mail, flip toy, fingernail cleaner, pocket jewelery, or using their folder in the kitchen...... Might as well just leave it in the box or in the store for that matter.

There are some that really do use their knives, but that percentage is really pretty small as was pointed out.

If you really read most of the posts you can tell who does and who really doesn't use their knives..

I do use the super steels and there really is a noticeable difference in real use compared to the more normal steels.

Hello,

154cm is my favorite stainless. I like it best for edc. Easy to sharpen, holds its edge fairly well and it's relatively inexpensive compared to the super steels. The more I use CPM S30V the more I like it but 154cm is still my favorite.

Keep'em sharp,

Chris
