Recently saw a thread where someone used sone kind of etching soulution from radio shack to blacken their blade.

Kinda want to do my Carbon V master hunter, but only if the result has a function.

I would think it does, but DOES IT?

Also if anyone remembers what thread that was plz let me know.

Thx.

O brother.

Dumbass attack.

Sorry mods, this was supposed to go to Maintenance and Tinkering. No idea what i was thinking. Plz move.

Thx.

The answer is yes, it will help wih rust. Basically all it does is speed up the natural process a carbon steel blade goes through as it ages. The blade will still rust if left unprotected but you will not have to worry about overnight rust forming from normal use or handling.
