Does Any Forumite Regularly Practice Tatami Cutting or Other Soft Targets?

Humbling for them at the very least. Give the katana owners a handicap; use your other hand. If the khukuri still won, the effect would be devastating!

Hah!!

I am left handed. If you know Japanese Kenjutsu you know you have to do it right handed. So I can now cut with either hand heh...heh...

All kidding aside this is a blade shape that goes back beyond the kukri. The recurve has a..lot of mechanical advantage.

Blade shapes, edge profile, steel, proper forging, heat treat and even the mounting; all contribute to the correct riddle-of-steel as expressed in tools and weapon craft. Any _one_ single failure can ruin the entire process.

cheers

Obviously, some of the khukuris are better choopers, and others are more adapted to martial arts applications since they are lighter and more "lively" in the hand. With your tameshigiri experience using the khukuri, which model do you favor over all the others?

I'll have a GS within a week, and just ordered a Chitlangi... Your reflections are most appreciated, Dan; thanks!
