Does any one else like plastic handles?

I have a few plastic handled knives and like 'em all. Old Timer Middleman Jack, Case yellow soddie jr., numerous SAKs, and so forth. They're all fine knives, or I wouldn't own them.

But ..... you know, I've never looked at a bone- or wood-handled knife and said to myself, "Gee, if only it had a plastic handle I'd like it more."

mnblade, I hate to say it but some times I do look at a knife and wish it had plastic. I would love to see a case folding hunter in yellow plastic, and with cv blades. It is weird because I don' like plastic on my firearms, I like wood. I don't use Teflon coated pans, I like my seasoned cast iron. All most all of my hammers, axes, draw knives, canoe paddles are wood handled, but for some reason I like plastic on my slip joints. If I ever decide to get a custom knife the maker will probably faint when I ask for saw cut Delrin........ Joe

I much prefer bone, wood, or stag. But, that delrin is practically bombproof, for a edc you can't beat it. It will last forever and in the "jigged" varieties like Camillus and others used to do, it is pretty nice looking.

I really like the muted look of the yellow composition handles that Eye Brand has. It looks classy, eventhough it's synthetic. I keep getting so close to buying one, but then some part deep in my brain kicks in and says "but it isn't real..." and I wind up going to good ol' bone. I consciously really want a yellow handled knife, but I subconsciously don't. Freud would have a field day. hey, talking about these types of handles, are they all "stabilized" on modern production knives?

Case or Moore Maker in yellow delrin
Queens in Jigged Black Cherry
Camillus in brown jigged delrin
Buck in sawcut black delrin

They are classic!

I like both Synthetic and natural, but for a user it is synthetic. I guess the Old Timers are the reason. I have carrying them for over 30 years now. I never have really liked wood on a knife unless it was a sheath knife.

Mooremaker offers some nice-looking yellow bone-handled knives.
