Does any one else use a pocket knife.....

Possibility of a group buy...looking into the rules and deal.

Just as a barometer...if you might be interested in a bit of a deal on one, stay tuned.

My wife was a city girl who never touched a gun and only used kitchen knives... until she met me.

Now she likes to shoot AK's and AR's and 1911's, she carries a "shorty" KaBar when we're out in the woods, and her tomahawk throwing skills are slowly improving.

People CAN be rehabilitated!

most steak knives in peoples cutlery drawers are a total joke. Many of their kitchen knives too. I can always be counted on to offer to help out in the kitchen and use my own cutlery. Hosts usually are quite appreciative.

I use Russel Green River knives in the kitchen.

Love the Dadley pattern most of all. It's good as a small butcher knife and it's also good for anything from fish to deer.

I use what ever knife I have on me for eating with .

When I first got married , it was an "issue"

Now my wife has her own opinel on her belt , its no longer a problem , she gets odd looks now when she uses her knife for ladylike tasks as slicing apples in McDonalds :)

Too complicated...but for what it's worth, Spark has the Hobos in stock.

I do often. I use them in the kitchen too, mostly my Opinel #10. Cut up all sorts of fruits like apples and canteloupe, slice up meat for some stir fry, chop up veggies for soups and pastas etc. It cuts better than any knife I've used in someone's kitchen or anything a restaurant has given me. I rarely use a knife when eating out though. I just don't eat out often and when I do it's usually chinese food. Rice doesn't need much cutting. ;)

Only comments I've gotten is my mom told me to use the knives in the kitchen for cutting. I told her they were duller and thicker so they didn't cut nearly as well. I've seen her watching me when I cut foods with my Opinel and I think seeing it in action has convinced her I'm right.

My friend who works at a Cafe just borrowed my Victorinox Nylon Solo while he waits for the one I ordered off a forumite to arrive in the mail. All the knives in his Cafe are useless due to how dull they are, even the serrated bread knives won't cut bread anymore. Boss is too cheap to let someone sharpen them and if he brought in his own knives and left them there people would cut with them on metal counters and stuff. So he got the idea to have a work EDC intended solely for food use. Told him Opinels and Vic Solos are my favorite and let him borrow the Solo since corrosion is no concern with them.

Not really a "pocket knife" per se, but I've been using my Busse AD to eat with quite a bit lately. It works SO much better than any of the other knives I'm used to- it makes eating just that much better. I actually used a Swamp Rat Ratmandu to eat my lunch with this afternoon- heated up leftovers from Outback and didn't have anything else in my office. It worked like a charm! Better than any of my steak knives, and it was fun, too.

That is one reason that I love my SAK one hander. It has the serrations up front and makes a great steak knife.

I EDC a serrated Culloden (fixed blade) which frequently gets utilized as a steak knife. I used to EDC a Vaquero Grande, which had been used to slice bagels, cut up submarine sandwiches, and slice pizza.
