Does anybody have a lansky "stone holder"

hey all, just wanted to have your input on a thought of mine.

Currently I am doing all my sharpening with a lansky set, a sharpmaker and a stropping belt. I don't like freehand sharpening because I am always afraid of messing up the knife and also partially it can get messy with water etc.
The sharpmaker is my go to device, nice and easy, though it doesn't excel at curved up tips.
I use the lansky for reprofiling and sometimes for touchups. cons are the mounting and the fact that you have to reposition to avoid the a changing angle over the length of the knife or curves in the blade.

Now, I found the idea of adjusting the angle on the stone (sharpmaker) and making vertical "cuts" interesting, so has anybody tried to make a sort holder for lansky (or any other type of stone) where you can adjust the angle and then move the holder over a flat blade? Sort of like an inverse wetstone...

or is this idea completely bonkers and I should just practice more?
