Does anybody have the new 110 Folding Hunter Pro? If so, what do you think about it?

knifeworks.com does not have them in stock, yet. knifecenter.com does, but I am waiting on something from KW to order along with it.

I just posted pictures of mine on the SPS. I ordered it Monday from a member here on Blade Forums (he also has them on ebay) - it came in yesterday's mail. When open the blade locks in the frame like a bank vault - blade and handle fitting is good (blade centered when closed, G10 perfectly flush on all frame edges, blade edge is quite even on both sides over the entire length of the blade. Only puzzlement to me is the etched BUCK name and model number - would have thought they would be stamped. One thing I really like, the Mexican made, black leather sheath has returned to the older loop method of construction. OH

Well, here is a funny addition to the story; just put the knife in the sheath and tried to snap it closed - the flap is missing the copper wire ring inside the button snap - the snap no work! Guess I'll get on the phone with Buck Knives tomorrow and see if they can send me a copper ring or if I have to send the sheath back for exchange. OH

I had the auto pro but it already went back. had a lot of side to side in the blade. Hoping the next one is better.

I'm going to order the regular elite, just to tear it apart and rescale.:( I do like S30V.

Yes, I have had mine for a couple weeks now, very well made and a looker. It is extremely tight to the point you have to push the lock release so hard it hurts your thumb to close it, lol, hopefully it just needs a break in period. The sheath is well made, although I probably will put it away as I hate to admit it, but I find myself reaching for the nylon sheath these days with it's lower profile.

I really like mine. It feels hefty in the hand. The grip is tactile and feels good to the touch. It opens with a resounding snap that jars your grip. If I have any criticism it would be about the edge. It was a little rough like they had skipped a buffing/polishing stage. It was sharp as all get go but the edge seemed unfinished. I ran it over a buffer and then took it to a leather strop and it cleaned up very nice. This knife cost a premium and would hope for perfection. I still love it.

Yes,Chilebrown, I agree with you on the edge finish, I wonder if the brushed nickel silver finish would discolor if left in a leather sheath?

Thanks OH and the rest of you. That is a great looking knife. I contacted KW so we will see what they say.

I wonder why Buck went with brushed nickel instead of polished like they normally do?

Doc, not sure about why it is brushed, but I do like the look. Anyone know, are these 110 Pro versions solid nickel or is this a surface plating? OH

Thanks for putting up pictures OH. I've been going back and forth between this one and DLT's drop point. It seems like this can be an extremely solid work knife and I'm hoping you guys have some more pictures :thumbsup::thumbsup:

OH, IMO and from what I've learned tearing these knives apart I'm going to say your not going to find plating on any of the 110/112's. The finishing process would destroy any plating. Pete

you are correct, there is no plating on a 110 brass or nickle silver.

Talked to Lori at Buck Knives warranty service today - she had me take a photo of the snap with the missing part for her; she is going to send a replacement sheath for my 110 Folding Hunter Pro. Pretty good service I would say - first class way to deal with folks. OH

That is one place Buck really shines: Warranty service.

I am glad to see Buck upping its game with better steels and materials. The knife business has really gotten insanely competitive and there are a lot of companies offering good designs with great materials for the same, or close to the same, money as Buck's regular production with only one of the materials. I believe the 110 Pro is a great step in the right direction.

Glad we could help you out. Lori is top notch.
