I have won several bets where people said I wasn't able to throw my Khuk and have it stick. It throws pretty much like an ax or a hawk. I was just wondering if any body else does this?
I think there used to be a guy in the forums that threw his khuk. I haven't seen him around much since he was fitted with his prosthetic leg Personally i don't do it because i have cheap hawks, axes, and knives that are fine for that. HI Khuks are extremly functional works of art to me. Kinda like drawing a mustache on a Picasso. Sure its fun when you do it, but by the end of the day you'll probably regret it. However, if you do have a cheepie khuk lying about then i say go for it....just watch your shins
all anecdotal experience I've read here suggests unless you are very accomplished throwing this tool not designed for flight will break it sooner or later.
Well for the guys that have HI khuks i can understand not throwing them but mine is not expensive and it flies fine. I will not be throwing an HI khuk when I finally get one, the same way I don't throw my good knives.
Zal (where's he been lately?) liked to throw his khuks (HI or not).....he got up to an 18 incher, I think.
If you have the right technique, why not?
Learn on your crappy knives and when you can do it right, move up to a khukuri. You'll void your warranty, of course. But if it's really something you want to try, give it a shot.
Then, if you break your khukuri....you could always just send it to me for repair...
