I have a few CQC6's but a litle reluctant to carry any of them. Do any of you actually carry your Emerson customs. Actually, do any of you actually USE your customs. Thanks

I have a CQC6 that I've carried for 5 years.
From the posts I.ve seen in this forum in the last 4 months(since I've been here) it seems I'm one of the few who actually got it from Ernie (for $375.00.) I remember at the time I thought, "to carry or not to carry". I decided it would be mine for life so I started carrying - not caring how the value was affected. But now I'm sure I could recoup the original price if I wished.

Hey azwilly -

If its got a half-moon logo, I know where to can get even more than your original investment! Just hoping...

I've been carrying mine for two years now. Sometimes I think it's grafted itself to my waistband

It gets used for something almost every day, and the finish is beginning to show it.

I have carried all of mine. The CQC8 was imbedded into my waistband for the last few years. I have recently gone to strictly carrying my Commander after spending such quality time with it at EWC2000. I just gave my CQC8 to Ernie to get fixed up, and it will probably go into the safe. I really like the production stuff for beaters, andI really think that Emerson knives, inc. will do a production waved 8 soon.

How much does a CQC6 cost now? I've seen one for $1300. Is that too much or too little?

E__WOK,
The bottom line is Whatever the market will bear. Meaning Supply and demand. If everyone PERCEIVES that Custom Emerson are worth X
then DEALERS and some Private individuals will ask it and then some will pay it.
As this stuff appears to be increasing in value be careful however of overinflated values for the newer Customs. I will pay alot more for any Half Moon Logo than a Spec War. Then learn about all the bells and whistles and sutbleties variations to determine real value or desire, versus psuedo perceived.
Eventually it plateaus and will have highs and lows like all other commodities.
A year ago CQC6's were going for $650.00 to $ 800.00. Now $1,000.00 to whatever SOMEONE will pay. The trick is try not to end up being a "SOMEONE".

I just spoke with Mr. Robertson yesterday about the same subject. He told me that I could get one (CQC-6) from him within a week or so. The price he gave me was $1,200 to $1,300. He has one on his site right now for $1,300. Today,I received a Lightfoot 460 mag tanto that should get me by until my 6 that's on order is ready ($500)

BH,
I see that alot of you guys carry your knives inside the waistband. I'm assuning on the inside & not outside. What is the reason for this. Doesn't it get uncomfortable meaning the knife digging into your side.

David, concealment is the reason I carry my Fallkniven WM1 fixed blade inside my waistband, in the rear. The kydex sheath and knife are 7.5" long. The sheath has a 1/4" lip on it that rides on the top of my waist band. I don't know it's there. Sometimes I wake up in the morning with it inside my skivies waistband having forgotton to remove it.

The usual suspects carrying a closed folder with a clip can tell you better about their situations. Carrying in the front or on the side probably is different.

Take care,
bug

I not only carry a knife in my left front waistband, but on the right front carry a Ket-Tec P32 pistol. Ninty percent of the time you never know their there.
