Does Anyone Else Like The Smell?

I have done the same with my 6 since the day I got it. I never watch tv without flipping it around in my hand. I smell the blade as well

I hear ya. Guys like weird smells in general though. I'd wear Hoppe's no. 9 as cologne if I could.

Hell yeah! Hoppes No.9 smells damn good..really poisionous though!

I love the new micarta smell too, but it usually ends up smelling like sweat dirt blood and beer pretty much right off the bat lol

So earlier tonight I'm sitting on the sofa watching TV with my wife and as almost always I have a tool, knife or gun in my hand and I'm fondling, touching, feeling and just "learning" what's in my hand. Believe it or not she accepts this as normal and no longer asks why are you doing that?

Well tonight she was looking over at me and I hear "what are you doing", I without realizing it was just smelling the Micarta on my ESEE-4! WTH?...

I had sold my other (used) 4 to a friend and got myself a new one and never realized that I love the smell of fresh, new Micarta. Now I can't stop holding it to my nose and smelling it, oh boy I need help.

Please tell me I'm not alone in this, this must be normal.

You're stretching it just a tad, but I don't think you're alone on this one..

I sort of like the smell of Tuf-Glide. Maybe subconciously I just associate it with some very cool knives. I mainly use it on some of my autos.

The sense of smell plays a big part in human memory. This goes for all things in our life. Smelling oil reminds me of working on cars. The things at occupy our fancy are no exception.

If your wife ever gives you a hard time about this, tell her you like the way she smells. ;-)
