Does anyone else prefer their titanium handles worn?

have to agree with jon1all. That first scratch is very unwelcome. But pointless to look at it that way because every additional one is a trophy. My plain large Seb 21 is just starting to get the broken in look and its looking better every day. Can't wait to see it in a year after daily carry, because it has replaced all my Spydies and Benchmades in my pocket. Really its broken my "rotation" haha maybe until I get more at least

Unless you put it away like a Wayne Gretzky rookie card, marks on blasted Ti is inevitable. Mine would only go back to CRK for a problem as I don't want one molecule of Ti blasted away!

I like both, I love the well used look on a knife that actually gets used, but functionally I was some actual grip on my handles, so on any of my metal handle knives I have the re-blasted pretty often.

In the desert I use them for extended time periods in the heat with sweaty hands, bead blasted Ti handles aren't very good, but very worn handles or smooth Ti handles are just useless.

I deliberately bought my small 21 Tanto used. Wanted one not to be pretty, but used and exuding character. The only way this one goes to the spa is if there were serious issues.

If there were issues that prevented the knife from performing to its' potential, that I could not fix. If there was damage. Then yes I would send it in. I'm not bothered by normal cosmetic scarring. That's just character. I like character.

I do enjoy the wear on my CRKs. In fact, I wish they would get more natural marks more quickly. HOWEVER, the exception would be on my Lisas Pick Sebenza and on any wood/exotic inlay Sebenzas. I prefer those in nicer condition than these bead-blasted or micarta Sebenzas. Bring on the pocket wear and blade scratches.

Mine pretty much stay like this. I bead blast all of mine, it cuts down on all the marks and gives the knife a much better look.

If I really love a knife, I don't worry about scratches at all because I know I will always be the one using and carrying it. If I'm not 100% sure that I will always be happy with that particular knife, I will be more reluctant to use it because so many people aren't interested in buying or trading for a real user. I have passed along some pretty serious users to people that buy knives for their true purpose. Whatever makes you happy is what's important. A handmade custom might change my mind, but for now my favorite knives get used and show it.

Well, this is a favorite. I like the worn scales, but not the worn blue thumb stud. I wish they wouldn't bother anodizing the thumstud on plain knives.

I like the worn look as well. However, it is nice to have the spa treatment available if you want to turn seasoned sebenza into new again. It's especially useful if youre trying to resell your sebenza and get the most for it as possible
