Does anyone find the weight of the CS Trail Hawk too light or just right?

CS Trail Hawk - 23.6 oz

CS Alternatives:

CS Pipe Hawk - 28 oz

CS Rifleman's Hawk - 36.5 oz

[These weights differ from the last catalog as the handles are now 22".]

I like it, great for throwing but my favourite thrower is the new frontier hawk.

i think the weights fine for what it is designed for; throwing, cutting kindling, etc.. i reprofiled the edge then sharpened it to a razor sharp edge. i believe it cuts it cuts really well for it's weight. i have always wanted to try the riflemans hawk though.

I find the TH not as good as the frontier, for weight, looks, and agility. The rifleman's is angled in a funny way such that it makes chopping woods awkward. Seems it is beaked more for spiking through someone than anything else.

I like my Trail Hawk, but then again I don't have other CS hawks for comparison (yet).

I think it is way too light for camp work. I like to have a 1.25lb head on a hatchet and more if I will be using the tool with two hands.

Depends on what your camp work is.

I find the weight fine. Heck I even cut the hammer pole off mine to make it a little more lightweight. ;)

I have had a riflemans hawk and trail hawk. I felt the riflemans hawk was too heavy for the handle, thus unbalanced. I love my trail hawk though!
