Add another to the fan list.
Often I'll find myself wanting to do something and think :Hey, wasn't there an article a few years ago. . .?"
I think that's mainly due to the fact that the historical mountain man.backwoodsman was often very poor and had to DIY and do it on the cheap.
I'm going to try and publish a few articles in the future in BWM. They'll be of traditional gear, but mostly newly made, and how to do things in ways the typical American Backwoodsman isn't used to or hasn't been exposed to.
I have to thank Dan Schectman and one of his BWM articles that turned me onto Duluth Packs. I had been wanting a good canvas/leather packs for a long time and couldn't even find where to ask about one.
Another thing I like about the mag is that the letters section are often mini articles that are as informative as the main articles.

I like it alright but. Its mostly vintage stuff with some modern articles from time to time. Only thing I dont like is the penny pincher/cheap skate theme that seems to prevail in some of the articles. I also wish they would do some better articles on modern WS&S knives/firearms/equipment and get away from the surplus/junk store/find at the dump stuff.
