I've owned a RAT-5 before, but I traded it. I hated the sheath and the choil. The Esee-5 look pretty good though with it's kydex, no choil and saber grind and .25" blade stock:cool::thumbup:. I'm sure there is another thread on this, but I can't search anything like my question without getting 1000 other threads with exactly what I'm not looking for. If anyone could post a pic I'd really appreciate it.

Do consider the hardening, too. I've heard that Ontario can have significant variance in their steel hardness from one batch to another.

Very different knives, IMO.

I like both.

Here's an old pic I took when I first got my RC-5:

A perfect example of the evolution of a knife. I got my RC5 a couple of weeks ago and love it...even with the cordura sheath.

The RC-5 is one of the most comfortable feeling knives I have handled. I especially like the handle ergonomics. Something about it whispers, "Ah Yeah Baby"! :D

Better than the 6? Considering both for a knife to do things where the buck 110 is too small and the 10 inch kuk is to big.

I'm used to thick knives. Most of my users have been BUSSE so that's probably why I really like the RC-5. I love the 6 too and I'd probably love a .25" thick RC-6 as well. Heck, I like'em all. I just can't afford them all.
