I bought a new glock field knife 78,the one without the saw ,a few months ago online.Recently,I only noticed that the blade was a slight curved to the right, when viewed from the spine.I haven't used it even, like prying or anything just sharpened it.Or is the blade intentionally that way inorder to assist sheathing.

I wondering if anyone has the same problem because I think I read recently some people on this forum have been appalled by the finish and such and have promptly sold them off.

Also wondering if there's anything I can do like return it or not since there appears to be not warranty on these.Should I contact Glock about my knife since it's only a cheap $30 knife and might be a waste of time.

I bought a Glock field knife a couple of months ago and it was not until the past few weeks that I noticed the blade was curved instead of straight. Also,I want to note that I have not used it for anything like prying but only sharpen it.

I was wondering if anyone had the same problem, since I haven't complained to the dealer that I bought from. And also, I don't think there is a lot that I can do since Glock doesn't Have a Warranty

dont mean to be condescending, but you get what you pay for with those.

poor fit and finish, poor materials, soft steel.

I do agree that the Glock Field Knife Model 78 does have a poor (phosphate-treated) finish which is uneven when new:thumbdn: .But I don't agree that they used poor materials;the handle is Polymer and the blade is a Spring steel tempered to HRC55,which is not exactly soft,in my opinion to the steel used in Martindale knives which have HRC 45 .I do agree, now that I got what I paid for.:thumbdn:

Looks straight to me but it's probably just my eyes. Where is the bend I'm looking for? I saw one recently for under 30 bucks, impressive looking knife for the money. I'm curious to know though is the knife full-tang construction or a rat-tail like Ka-bar? I'd be really curious to see a good review of this knife.

i bought one the same as yours a few months ago sharpened the top edge and whole blade not bad overall but it is a field knife

Ditto!

And how many threads are you going to start on this subject?

Meh... So it is slightly curved. I doubt it will be detrimental to it's function. Good observation though. Use it and enjoy it.

Every now and then I think about picking one of those up, just for fun. Perhaps today I will order one.

I picked one up a while back for about $25 bucks and it seemed like a pretty decent knife for the money.

The only suggestion I have is to throw away that piece of crap knife and buy something decent. Rule of thumb is that knives made by firearms manufacturers are junk. Did you really expect that a Glock knife would be something good?

Firearms manufacturers do not usually make their knives.

HK knives are mostly made by Benchmade, and are top notch.

S&W knives are crap made by Taylor cutlery, I believe.

I have no idea who makes the Glock knives.

Razorburn: You did get your money's worth. To understand your Glock, consider that the saw back model is intended for use as a root saw, as in digging a hole in the ground. The steel hardness is closer to Rc50 so it will bend rather than break, quick to sharpen (sort of) to a fair edge, and not easily loose the point. The sheath is very good for the purpose. At $30 they are intended to be abused without regret, and a warranty would only hike the cost. Use it up, get another one. Who knows how it got bent but as long as it slides into the sheath, it matters little. Regards, ss.

If I've had known that my two separate thread were going to eventually be mergered,I wouldn't of done this:D .I'm very sorry, since ,I am still quite new to this forum and for that you're just going to have to forgive me.

I also want to clarify a few things
1)that my knife was purchased for about $25
2)yes I agree the slight curve is probably not detrimental to it's function
3)I didn't know what to expect since according to Glock they claim that their Glock outdoor(Knives & Entrenching tools) equipment is specially developed and tested according to army(Austrian) requirements and is used by military units throughout the world;so I thought it couldn't be a bad buy
4)the knife is stamped "Made in Austria";
would of thought that they would of had higher standards
5) saw these knives fly off the dealer's shelves as soon as they are stocked;thought must be pretty good
6)don't care about the finish but I don't remember ever having a knife with a curved blade, even one marked Made in China or Taiwan or anywhere else
