I am in the process of adopting a 420hc example. I am assuming that these are Japanese made. Tom Carey's pages always useful but not very definitive in this case. Warner's page regarding these seems lost but iI guess I can try Archive.org. The 420hc examples all appear to lack any Effingham etch.

What I am looking for is confirmation as to the origin of the 420hc examples and when the the reintroduced model happened. Also specs on the reintroduced knife.

Call it a bit of regression and lost midlife crisis. I have both a black micarta 1-7 subhilt and A.W.A.C from back when they were introduced.

Cheers

I was not aware of any of the Pangas being made in Japan. I was under the impression that some 1200 420HC models were made in Effingham.
The Blackjack models of the same 1991-1992 period made by Kinryu Seki were Aus6 or Aus8. If you can unscrew the scales, see if "Japan" is stamped on the tang.
If so, I am wrong.
