I acquired a waki in a trade but I just cant bring myself to use it. I'm scared I would break it and its such a beautiful blade I would feel terrible messing it up. I put it up for sale in hopes that if the rumors are true I will have some cash to pre order a mastiff :D

But I am considering keeping it if it doesn't sell. So do any of you guys heavily use your Waki's? I know it is extremely flexible but I could see myself breaking it if I got it caught in a log or something. What are your experiences with it in heavy use?

My brother has beaten the hell out of his.
He also allows anyone who's around to whack things with it.
It is missing a goodly bit of coating now, and has some neat edge chips from people carrying through past the branch/hedge/whatever and into rocks.:eek:
It has been batonned through some sizeable wood as well.
No worries though, and nothing a good sharpening (well, a REALLY good sharpening:D) won't fix.
Beat the hell of the woods with it if you like; it will NOT break.:thumbup:
Just try to avoid the rocks.;)

You're an animal if you break one! :D

Man, I love this video. I was telling a friend about it a few months ago. It was one of the first videos I saw about Swamp Rat and the toughness of SR101. It's one of the main reasons I got started...RMD, HRLM, SW, M9, and M6 are now part of my lair!:D

wow that was impressive. Ok I may be keeping my waki! I just hate to use it, its so beautiful. And I think the brown and black g-10 version is about as rare as it gets. This is why I have started buying all my fixed blades USED!

Even used they don't lose to much value. They also have a no BS warranty.

It's hard for me to hold a big blade and not use it! ;)

Cool video man you were really beating the snot out of that tree. It must have taken awhile. I just could'nt believe how it sliced that paper after taking that beating.
That's some impressive steel. :eek::thumbup:

Weird. I use my AK-47 to clear brush all the time but I haven't broken out the Waki but once just because it's so beautiful as it is. I have no doubts about it's ability though. Maybe someday.

Chips be a'flyin"!!!

WOW...love the Waki video:thumbup::thumbup:

Silverbullets, those are some fantastic pics (the view is awesome) and the blade's not bad either...:D

Kalel,
My experience with my wakis is the more you use them the more you want to use them. They are indeed magnificent blades, so I suggest if you care to keep it mint or lightly used not to use it at all, because once you chop with a Rodent Waki you just can't stop. The factory video says it all, beast of a blade, with excellent edge retention. :thumbup:

Apologies if I'm wrong, but that looks like one of Chuddy Bear's rigs.

I did a little more poking around and I think you're right.
I picked up a kydex sheath off of eBay that's pretty decent
but there are no attach points. One of these is on my short list.
Thanks for the reply.
