Does anyone heavily use their Waki?

Ive decided to keep my Waki and make it a user. I just cant take it anymore, I have to chop something with it! I realized that even if I did sell it I would just want another waki or Scrapizashi and aside from a KZ II or BM there really aren't many things out there that I want more. Cant wait to use it!

Now for my next dilemma, do I take the Waki and RMD or M9 and RMD when I go camping? Its a wonderful dilemma to have :D

I left the Waki at home when I did 100 miles on the AT in a week last summer.

I figured the weight weenies would be all over me. But then we ran into some crazy thru-hiker who was using 5 foot sections of rebar as walking sticks for the entire Pennsylvania stretch.

That's when I figured: It's not too heavy. You're too weak.

I chopped up a board with it today. Its a pretty solid chopper, probably on about the same lever as my dogfather. I'm glad I'm keeping her! I want another one now to keep nice

I love it Brother.

I love the sound of the Sword swinging into the wood.

Nothing whistles like the swords

Awesome

P.S.

What camera did you use ?

Weird. I use my AK-47 to clear brush all the time but I haven't broken out the Waki but once just because it's so beautiful as it is. I have no doubts about it's ability though. Maybe someday.

Chips be a'flyin"!!!

after I convexed my user, I was able to go through 2x2 in one chop and 2x4 in 5. I will see if i saved the photos.

There is no way you could break one in normal use. I chopped, split, and battoned my way through oak/pine/maple/birch logs/lumber/boards all summer and all I did was wear the coating off. Alas, I sold that one....this summer I need to break out my G10 handled one and compare it to my Scrapizashi.

I heard about that guy. I hiked the whole PCT this summer and considered doing something similar at times just as an arm workout. Glad I had a fixed blade to entertain myself and chop at stuff once in a while.

I just got back from a camping trip and wow the waki is a blast to use. I chopped down a few tree's and it chops as well as anything I've ever used. I need to wrap the handle though because you get a lot of shock on a hard chop especially in the cold.

The only thing I was dissapointed in was its sharpness. The waki wouldn't shave arm hair before I used it. I'm going to give it a good sharpening on sandpaper and strop it but I'd really love to get a convex edge on it. This thing would be a monster with a convex edge.

It was one of the first videos I saw about Swamp Rat and the toughness of SR101. It's one of the main reasons I got started.

Same here :) outstanding toughness and beautiful looks for the $
