I have a seax I bought from a local maker. It has (had) a beautiful crosscut hickory handle. I left it outside on an extremely cold night. The next morning I saw that pieces of the handle had popped off the tang.

Anyone interested?

Why not ask the original maker to fix it for ya...?

Where are you located, USA?
Does it have to be wood?

Not sure if you are familiar with my work?

My schedule is varying but I could sneak in something not fancy, but nice. I prefer a bit of material up front of the index finger giving a bit of guarding..... Would that affect the sheath, If there is one?

If you need someone, you can PM me.
Thanks.

In case people were wondering?
Adding that I did help him out.

I don't know many details of the original maker, or the knife? I wanted to keep it looking still within their style. The owner gave me free reign to do whatever I felt it needed. I appreciate that, but I didn't really want to change it too much.

It was damaged from moisture. After removing the scales I noticed the blade had a good sized Warp. Took alot of dimples with my carbide hammer to straighten it out.

The owner likes wooden handles, and wanted something darker. I had some walnut in my shop that's been hanging around for over 20 years, looking for a home..I added some black Micarta liners for extra stability...I think these scales, and the handle turned out great.

I hope the owner gets to enjoy them for years to come. Thank you for letting me help you.
