Where are they built? Are they quality knives? Does anyone know anything regarding this cutlery manufacturer? Thanks!

I have never heard of the company, so all I can tell you is that 4Cr13 is a Chinese steel, so I doubt it' s handmade in Canada. And also, 4Cr13 steel is rather on the soft side, so it doesn' t hold an edge very well but should be easy to sharpen.

4Cr13 is Chinese nomenclature for 420HC.
58HRC is about what Buck runs their 420HC to.
So if the description is accurate, it would make an OK blade.
Personally, I don't care for the design, but that is personal preference. YMMV

Based on the alloy description, I would guess this was made in mainland China. Which is not to say that it must be a crappy blade.

Never heard of the company.

I did a search of all open forums on BladeForums for Numade, no dice. That looks like a decent pigsticker.

It took me a while to find the website and the knife:
http://www.canadaknives.com/product_info.php?cPath=2_20&products_id=292

All sorts of warning signs that this is not a good buy:

The design is fantasy, non-standard for a user knife.
Misspelled length as lenght. (Few other languages use the English th sound.)
Ignorant designation, conflating tanto and bowie.
Last picture has what look like stylized Chinese characters on the blade.

I wouldn't buy it if all I had to pay was shipping.

Let us know what kind of knife you're interested in and we can suggest a fairly priced, reasonable quality knife from a reliable dealer.

Ok thanks Benyamin, and everyone else who threw in their 2cents. I am just looking for a bowie knife to add to the collection. I really like the TOPS Steel Eagle 107D, and I guess the Numade was a similiar style. My preferences are micarta for handle material (full tang a given), a natural steel blade (not the black coating crap), and saw back would be cool but not essential. As I mentioned, the Steel Eagle just looks badass in my humble opinion. Any ideas?!

Personally, I don't like or need a supersized knife with serrations or sawback but at least the TOPS knives are formidably well-made. They are real working knives of good steel.

Not really, as I say, these aren't my style of knives. For big knives, I look to working knives of a more direct design: CRK, Becker, RAT Cutlery. (ALL of these have forums here.) Also Dozier, Bark River. (Forums elsewhere.)

You can get handmade knives from real knifemakers here also at http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=789. We have individual Knife Maker Specific Forums under those.

I'm going to move this from General Knife Discussion to FEEDBACK and see if we can't get more recommendations there.

Hey Brendan these Nu Made knives you are looking at also go by Samurai Sprit on amazon I have ordered the Regulus Sa no.614 tanto really nice knife but it never showed but I have amazon A to Z to refund me. watch out for these guys on Canada Knives check out the BBB it should make up your mind. If you are looking for some cool knives check out Posh Land Knives or Perkins Knives never had a problem and the prices aren't to bad. Remember a knife never runs out of bullets it only gets dull.
